It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Mother, Doreen Ola Ramos, age 88, who passed away on February 5, 2026, in Copperopolis, CA. She was comforted with the love of her family who were with her during her final days.
Doreen was born on June 24, 1937, in San Jose, California where she had wonderful childhood memories growing up with her two brothers Don and John, and her cousins Jimmy, Don (Bucky) and David, Vinnette, and Dick. Mom picked apricots in her family's orchard and worked in the Cannery. She attended Peter Burnett Middle School and graduated from Lincoln High School in San Jose.
Married on November 30, 1956, she cultivated a beautiful & loving relationship with her husband, the late Gabriel Anthony Ramos. Together, they built a wonderful life with their three children: Dianna Doris Ramos-Williams (with John Flannery), the late Timothy Gabriel Ramos, and Kathleen Marie Vela (with Jim Vela). As Doreen’s family grew, she was blessed with four grandchildren; John Joseph Flannery (JJ), Kimberly Lynn Hayes (with Anthony), Michael Benjamin Williams, and Alyssa Doreen Vela; as well as six great-grandchildren; Augustus Hayes, Mila Williams, Gwenevyre Hayes, Will Flannery, Leonidas Hayes, and Halle Flannery. Doreen is survived by her loving brother, Don Felich, her brother-in-law Luis Ramos, and sister-in-law Kaye Felicich. She is joining the loved ones who have passed before her which include her parents, Michael & Doris Felicich; her siblings, Vincent Felicich, Catherine Felicich, and John Felicich; her husband, Gabriel Ramos; and their son, Timothy Ramos.
Ever since Doreen was a little girl, all she wanted was a husband, a family and a home. She accomplished this at only 19 years of age when she married Gabe, and her dreams started to come true. Once Doreen started her family, she took on Babysitting full time in her home on Monroe St. in San Jose so she could be home with her children until they were out of grade school. Some of these families are still in touch with Doreen today. Her immense love and compassion extended to everyone she knew.
Doreen loved to bake, and her children looked forward to coming home from school to see their mom and find out what goodie she had baked that day. She always welcomed them with loving arms. She never missed a basketball game, baseball game, school play, nor dance recital. She was always in attendance at every event to support her family and provide them with love and encouragement.
Doreen had many talents throughout her life. She started out as a dental assistant and ended her working career as an HR Director for SIIG. Doreen also worked for The Duplicators and Coin-Co, where she had a special friendship with Marcie which extended into their retirement years in Sonora. It was at this time of her life she enjoyed bowling with the 'Golden Girls', was a member of the Red Hat Society and The Womens Club in Sonora CA. She also enjoyed taking drives and exploring the beautiful surroundings. Especially Pinecrest, which has been a special destination for generations with her family. Doreen loved going to the Casino, and this became a favorite thing to do in her later years. Doreen’s favorite holidays were Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She never let a single holiday go by without spoiling her children and making them feel special.
The most passionate aspect of Doreen's life was taking care of her family, no matter how young or old, she was the strength, the wisdom, the loving soul everyone looked up to. Doreen's life will always be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched and her motherly love will live on through the joy, laughter and warmth that she surrounded her family with.
