Doris Iva Darby

Doris attended Lakeside High School where she loved being a Majorette, played Basketball and was very active in her school activities where she developed lifelong friendships.

After High School Doris married her high school sweetheart, Robert L Darby, in 1953 and they enjoyed 62 years of marriage choosing to raise their four children in San Jose, California for 50 years and eventually retiring to where they grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas with Robert. After Robert’s passing in 2016, she returned to be with her children in San Jose.

Doris in addition to being a dedicated wife and Mother she was also as multi-talented woman. She was an excellent seamstress, painter of all things, artistic flower arranger and loved tending to her garden which included her fruit trees which she made wonderful jams and jarred goods. Doris also liked entering sweepstakes where she won several prizes.

Her children, Rebecca Darby, Steve Darby, Rhonda Darby and Robert K. Darby and his wife Janet Darby and grandchildren, Jessica Gallucci, Vanessa Williams, Jake Darby, and Brooke Darby, survives Doris.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 29, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.

A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 300 Curtner Ave, San Jose, CA 95125.

A committal service will occur Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 300 Curtner Ave.
