February 16, 1952 – September 8, 2025
Eusedo “Sid” Medrano, affectionately known as “Cabog” and “Boy,” passed away on September 8, 2025, at Family Feels Care Home. He was surrounded by his family during his final moments, closing a life filled with love, hard work, and adventure.
Born on February 16, 1952, in Balungao, Pangasinan, Philippines, Eusedo was the son of Demetrio and Prudencia Medrano and one of six siblings—Salud, Renato, Manolito, Eduardito, and Zenaida. Even as a child, he stood out for his intelligence, mischievous sense of fun, and curiosity about the world. A valedictorian through his school years, he was as comfortable riding carabaos in the fields as he was excelling in the classroom. He was known for reaching for the biggest sugar canes when his mother returned from the market—a playful hint of the zest for life that never left him.
After earning a degree in Accounting from the University of the East, he made the bold move to the United States in 1976. Just a few years later, he married the love of his life, Rica, on July 14, 1979. Together, they built a life rooted in devotion, humor, and resilience, celebrating 46 years of marriage.
Eusedo spent much of his career working in auto manufacturing at NUMMI, where his tireless effort and dedication helped provide his children, Sidney and Sarah Jane, the chance to pursue their degrees at UC Berkeley. He was deeply proud of their accomplishments—Sidney as an engineer and Sarah Jane as a CPA—and even prouder of the people they became.
Outside of work, Eusedo found joy in the everyday. He loved cooking, reading the newspaper, working in the yard, fishing, and wandering flea markets. He stayed active at the gym, enjoyed time outdoors, and never turned down the chance for karaoke and a drink with friends. In later years, his greatest happiness came from being “Lolo” to his grandchildren, Kelly and Kygo, who adored his warmth and gentle spirit.
After a courageous seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s and dementia, Eusedo leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and perseverance. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a caring father, a proud grandfather, and a man who brought laughter and light wherever he went.
