Gloria JoAnne Costa

Gloria JoAnne Costa of San Jose, CA passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the age of 87. Gloria was born September 5, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Costa. Gloria is survived by her Sister in law, Rita Ivancovich, Son Randy Costa (Cherilyn Costa), Son Scott Costa (Kerry Costa), Son Jeff Costa (Tiffani Costa), Grandchildren Rob Costa (Sarah Costa), Jim Costa (Brittany Johnson), Katie Costa, Shane Costa, Great-Grandchildren Iris Blystone, Stella Blystone, Larkin Costa, Ruby Costa and many nieces and nephews.

Gloria worked as a young woman at the St. Claire Hotel in downtown San Jose as a Switchboard operator. She also worked for Ames Laboratory before becoming a full time mom. Gloria loved her family with a passion. She loved visiting with family and friends. Gloria was a wonderful dance partner with her husband Rich. Gloria and Rich ran their business “Glide-in Overhead Door Company” together. Rich did sales and installation and Gloria was the bookkeeper.

She loved to cook and share recipes. Gloria was also quite a talented artist – she loved Tole Painting and her art was admired by many.

Gloria was a kind person who cared deeply for all who crossed paths with her.

A graveside service will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 300 Curtner Avenue, San Jose, CA 95125.

A reception with desserts and beverages will follow at the Oak Hill Memorial Reception room.
