Helen passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born in San Jose, CA to Julian and Georgia Landeros. Helen grew up in Gilroy. She graduated Gilroy High School in 1959. She married her high school sweetheart Gilbert DeLeon in 1961 and moved to San Jose.
Beloved wife of Gilbert DeLeon of 39 years, she is finally reunited. Loving mother to her three children: Gilbert DeLeon (son), John DeLeon (son) & Patricia (wife) and Elsa Karr (daughter) & Robert Karr (husband) and devoted grandchildren being there every step of the way, John DeLeon, Andrew DeLeon and Jevina DeLeon. She is also leaving behind her much loved mother, sisters, brother, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was a homemaker until she started working at Payless in 1978. She retired from working at Payless/Thrifty/Rite-Aid after 33 years.
She lived a life of laughter and loved her family more than anything. She never let those around her have a bad day and always made sure to have fun.
She enjoyed going to Gilroy to visit her sisters for lunch and shopping excursions. She also enjoyed dancing, cooking and a great cocktail. Helen loved to decorate the house for all holidays. Starting at Valentine’s Day, spring, Easter, fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas as the loop continues for the next year. She will be remembered by loved ones for her positive spirt, holiday cards and deviled eggs at family gatherings.
