Helen Fay Findley-Willet

It is with sadness, but great joy, we announce the Home-Going of our Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Aunt, Friend, & adopted “Mom.”

Born on February 20, 1927 in Poteau, Oklahoma to parents Lou V. Findley and Lee Findley, she was the youngest of seven siblings. Migrating from Oklahoma to Santa Barbara, California in 1939, she considered herself a true Californian.

Survived by her three children Sandra Lee Willet-Payne of San Jose, CA (Debbie), Dwane Paul Willet (Julia) of Applegate CA, and Robert Deon Willet of Morgan Hill, CA, and former husband Robert R. Willet of OR, grandchildren Mindy Shirk (Andy) Shirk of KY, Michael R. Willet (Erica) of Sacramento, CA, great granddaughter Olivia Jane Shirk of KY, impending birth of Great Grandson Justin Jay Shirk, nineteen nieces and nephews and too many friends to mention.

A devout Christian, she was always listening to that still small voice of her savior. Her loves were: the Lord, her Families, and Christian Music in that order. Thank you to her adopted families at Open Bible Church and The Village of Willow Glen.

There will be a celebration of Helen’s life on October 23rd at Open Bible Church at 5303 Carter Ave., San Jose, CA 95119 at 5:00PM, with reception to follow in the social hall. At my Mother’s request, please no flowers.

If you wish to make a donation in her memory, it may be made in her name to either the building fund of Open Bible Church or Sacred Heart Community Center, both in San Jose, California.
