

JAMES HENRY KEENAN
May 17, 1930 – July 22, 2021
James (Jimmy) Henry Keenan passed away in the early morning on Thursday, July 22 in San Jose, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth and James; sister, Gertrude; and his son, Kevin. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Anna Marie; daughters, Carolyn (Steven), Kathy, Linda (Wayne), Maureen (Paul) and Tracy; grandchildren, Desiree (Tim), Jimmy, Tracy, Nick, Alex (Georgia), Kaelin, Carson, Analisha (Jason) and Trevor; great grandchildren, Ryan, Gabriel, Harper, Hutsen, Annie and Kevin; beloved dog, Ascot as well as other loving family members and friends.
Jimmy was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on May 17, 1930. He attended Fairfield College Preparatory School, a Jesuit school. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Once married in 1957, he lived in Connecticut and then the growing family moved to California in 1968. Jimmy owned a Farmers Insurance business for many years until retirement at age 70 and was an extremely personable and respected entrepreneur.
He had an amazing love for life. He was passionate about sports, especially baseball (Oakland A’s and Boston Red Sox), hockey, basketball, football and enjoyed skiing and competitive racquetball during his younger years. He appreciated good books and was an avid reader and visitor to the local library. He thoroughly enjoyed card games, movies, musicals, delicious food and travel and was always up for any adventures especially if it meant time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed and always in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 27 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA 95125.
