Jim,
It was exactly two years ago today about this time on the Saturday before Memorial Day that you and I were sitting around in your garage when you got a call to look  at a neighbor's boat.

To this day I have no memory of the events that followed, but somehow I survived the boat crash, and you did not.  I think about you every day and I can still hear that goofy laugh of yours.  Sharon and I shared so many wonderful times with you and the Bren,  from the Alaskan cruise to just sitting around under your tree.  Nothing can ever diminish those memories.

You were the best friend I could ever hope to have, and I miss you terribly.

My condolences to your family.Rod,Sam and I met Jim and his wife at Rod,s brother Gene Barger funeral in October 2014 and enjoyed meeting him and Brenda. He was a good friend to Gene and we heard some wonderful stories about their adventures they shared.May he rest in peace.

No words can express the sadness I felt when Brenda told me of Jim's unfortunate passing, years before his time. My beloved significant other, Gene Barger, had been a dear friend of Jim and Brenda from back in the 1980's. They shared many hobbies including motorcycles, dirt bike riding, flying each others' airplane and watching air shows together. When I lost Gene in October 2014, I asked Jim to do the honor of riding one of Gene's motorcycles right next to a Harley-Davidson hearse that took Gene on his last ride. Jim was the only person I ever allowed to ride one of Gene's motorcycles and Jim escorted Gene all day as Gene went on his last ride. i posted the video on YouTube, Gene Barger Last Ride. 
My heart hurts and is in tatters for Brenda and their family. My deepest sympathy goes out to Brenda and everyone who loved Jim Leale.

I am sending my condolences to you and your family. So sorry to hear about this tragic accident. You are in my heart and prayers.

I first met Jim in the mid 1970s when I took a job with a small bookkeeping firm in Willow Glen where Jim was a client.  Jim was an honest man and you could always trust his repairs.
Bear with me for a moment and in your mines eye picture Jim getting out of bed in the morning and shuffling down the hall using his walker to get to the breakfast table, finishing with his daily glass of prune juice and hobbling off to his rocker to sit and contemplate what had been.
 Not coming into focus for me either.  When I see Jim Leale I see him doing figure eights on his jet ski, zipping across a calm lake in his speed boat, climbing a big hill in his dirt bike, all the time throwing dust and dirt on all those behind him, or doing mock one across a snowy meadow on a snow mobile, his grin getting wider with every additional mile of speed. 
Now if you can't picture the smile it's because he has his head down under the hood of a muscle car or high speed race car making it run smoother.  I bet right now he is in heaven tinkering with Jesus's motorcycle, making it go faster.
The book of Mathew tells us Blessed are the mourners for they shall be comforted by the warm whirlwind left behind by Jim Leale.

We are so sorry for your loss. 
We haven't known Jim very long. He was a very kind hearted man. We will always be very grateful to Jim and Brenda for taking a chance on us when no one else would. You will be in our hearts ❤ and prayers .

Jim was a good neighbor and friend of ours, I will miss his smile, wisdom and infectious laughter. My heart goes out to you Brenda, Sherri, Jimmy and your families. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that you now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.
