Today we celebrate the wonderful life of Jeffery Morayn Green, known by everyone as “Jeff”. Jeffrey began his life’s journey on August 20, 1954, in San Francisco, CA. Jeffrey was the second child born to Jerdine Cobb and Charles Green, who preceded him in death.
Jeffrey attended grade school in San Francisco. He attended George Washington high school, graduating in 1973. Jeffrey attended St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA where he received a full scholarship to play football. Jeffery graduated from St. Mary’s in 1977, with a major in Economics and Business Administration.
Jeffrey met Janet Norris at the age of 18 who he married in 1977. Of this union were born 3 children, Jeff Jr., Shawn and Tenia, who were his pride and joy and his lovely granddaughter Sadè who called him “Poppa”.
Jeffrey worked at Lockheed Martin for 33 years as a buyer, retiring in 2010.
Jeffrey led a very zealous life. He was known for his sense of style and class. His ability to make people laugh and “motivate” beyond belief. Jeffrey took great pride in his coaching abilities. Coaching for South Bay Falcons, National Junior Basketball, and Holy Family. After retirement, he kept very busy refereeing football, basketball and baseball. He volunteered weekly at the Solari Community Center distributing food for low income families. Jeffrey loved meeting new people and would talk to anyone who would listen.
Jeffrey loved gambling with his wife and sister-in-law, fishing with friends, finding the best deals at flea markets, and attending and volunteering at music festivals.
Jeffrey had a zest for life and lived it to the fullest.
Early Tuesday morning, on April 18, 2017, our beloved Jeffrey made his transition. He is at peace. He leaves to cherish his memory with: wife Janet Green, children Shawn and Tenia Green, daughter-in-law Raquel and granddaughter Sadè; and all of San Jose California. Brother Phillip Green of San Francisco and nephews Omari and Opara Green along a host of cousins and friends.
Jeff loved life, and he “Loved this Family.” Jeff, you are loved and you WILL be missed.
