John R. Duffy

from 1953 to 1957.

Upon returning to the bay area he met the love of his life, Barbara "BJ" Massey and they married and started a family. John was employed as an electrical engineer for over 35 years.

He is survived by his five loving children; Anne Thompson (Jerry), Jim Duffy (Julianne), Bill Duffy ( Debbie Mark), Bob Duffy (Christie) and Carol Harrington (Tim). He will forever missed and remembered by his ten grandchildren; Tony Thompson (Tiffany), Julie Thompson, Brian Duffy (Ashly), Sean Duffy and Elisa Duffy, Emily Martinez (Jay), Ryan Duffy, Nathan Duffy (Silas Russ), Danny Harrington (Katie Bowman) and Ben Harrington. John was a proud great-grandfather to three, Kizzy Thompson, Teagun Thompson and Patrick Duffy. His sister Kathleen Heddlesten will never forget him along with nieces and nephews Dennis Dray (Lily Irizarry), David Dray, Michelle Frazier, Michael Frazier, and Chris Frazier (Kristen).

John was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth A. (Berube) Duffy, and Christopher G. Duffy, his beautiful wife Barbara Duffy in 2015, his sister Elizabeth Dray, brothers-in-law Dick Dray, Jim Heddlesten, and nephew Danny Dray.

A Funeral Service will be held for John R. Duffy at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, located at 710 Willow Street, San Jose, on Tuesday, November 25th, 2025 at 11:00 AM. The family will be receiving guests at 10:30 AM. A Committal Service follows at 1:30 PM at Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 22555 Cristo Rey Drive, Los Altos, with Navy Honors.
