

Johnson Badalpour was a loving, kind, hardworking man who always had a smile on his face and joy in his heart. He passed away at the age of 75 on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease.
Born in Abadan, Iran on August 1, 1949, to Babajan Badalpour and Sophia Golpashin, Johnson came to the United States in 1971and lived in Chicago, IL. He attended the University of Illinois, Chicago and earned his Bachelor of Science in 1977 and his Master of Science in Engineering in 1978.
Johnson was madly in love with his sweetheart, Shalim Sarmicanic, and they were married on February 23,1974 in Chicago. Five years later, in 1979, their only child and daughter, Sarah, was born. Their home was always filled with warmth and joy which was noticeable to anyone who entered their home. Johnson and Shalim had a wonderful and strong marriage. They were fortunate to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in February 2024.
In 1981, Johnson began his employment with the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in the federal government. Shortly thereafter, he and Shalim accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior and became born-again Christians. Johnson’s desire to learn and minister lead him to Moody Bible Institute where he began working towards a degree in Divinity. He went on to complete his degree at LIFE Bible College in California in1995. He spent many years leading bible studies both at home and work.
In 1987, Johnson, Shalim, Sarah, and Louise, Johnson’s mother-in-law, moved to Glendale, CA where he continued working for HUD. Over the decades he formed amazing friendships with coworkers which would last into his retirement. In 2018, Johnson retired from HUD after working for 37 years. Three years later, in 2021, Johnson and Shalim moved to San Jose, CA to be near their daughter and son-in-law.
Remaining to cherish Johnson’s memory are spouse, Shalim; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Kenneth Allen; sister and brother, Jane Ameer and George; and cousins, nephews, nieces, and other extended family members.
Preceding Johnson in death are parents, Babajan and Sophia; and sister, Julie Khoshaba.
A memorial service to celebrate Johnson’s life will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 11am at Oak Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park located at 300 Curtner Ave. San Jose, CA 95125.
