Jonathan Mamaril Estoesta

Born on July 1, 1969 in his maternal hometown, Barangay Anduyan, Tubao, La Union, Philippines, Jonathan (Jojo as we all call him) is the oldest of three kids of Clarita Mamaril Estoesta and the late Jose Yu (Tsai Han Pao in Chinese). Jojo attended Paco Elementary School, Philippine Sun Yat Sen High School, and Far Eastern University where he pursued a degree in Business Administration. However, after completion of his junior year and at 18 years of age, he left for Taiwan with his father to work. He returned to the Philippines after 5 years of working in Taiwan.

Jojo is faithfully and devotedly married to the love of his life, Lisa Estopare-Estoesta. Their marriage is blessed with two children: Kristianne Marie (26 years old) and Arman Joseph (AJ, 23 years old). He immigrated to the US in September 2003 to join Lisa and her family.

Jojo was fortunate to have worked at two major health care hospitals here in California – Kaiser Permanente in Santa Clara and Palo Alto Medical Foundation. After serving a brief stint as park attendant in Great America, he worked at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Santa Clara as an operating room technician. Eventually, he became a technician at the Sterile Processing Department at the same hospital. In addition, he worked part time at Palo Alto Medical Foundation at their Sterile Processing Department.

Jojo passed away on December 11, 2020. Unknowingly, he had a Dural Arteriovenous fistula and suffered an aggressive DAVF symptom that resulted from bleeding in the brain (intracerebral hemorrhage) which caused his death. He was 51 years old.

Jojo is survived by his wife, daughter and son, his mother and brother, Carlo. He is now reunited with his loving Creator, his father Jose Yu and his youngest brother Omar. He will be remembered as a sweet, faithful and devoted husband, a very kind and loving father, a calm but confident and respectful son, a responsible and protective brother, and a hardworking and trustworthy employee. His competitive spirit is greatly admired by his friend. Jojo has a strong but pleasant personality, and for sure, he will be greatly missed.
