Jose Brum Neves

Born on December 15, 1932, in Ribeira do Meio, Pico Açores, and passed away at the age of 92, on March 8, 2025. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Esmeralda Vieira Neves; his son Frank Neves of Manteca, California, his daughter Linda Dutra, and spouse Arlindo Dutra of San Jose, California, and Anna Kelly and spouse David Kelly of Nashville, Tennessee; his 9 grandchildren; Chrissy Neves, Jennifer Barcelos, Cody Neves, Anthony Neves, Lilyana Dutra, Sean Neves, Isabella Kelly, Charlotte Kelly, and Matthew Kelly and 8 Great Grandchildren, sister Lourdes Fagundes from Santa Clara, CA; Margarida Silva from San Leandro, CA; Gabriel Neves (Maria) from Jerome, Idaho, Teolinda (Marino) Machado and Gortte (Antonio)Santos from Toronto, Canada; Francisco (Ilda) Brum, Antonio (Maria do Carmo) Neves and Sister in Law Angelina Neves from Pico Açores. Many cousins, nieces and nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco Brum Neves and Maria Vieira Neves, brother Manuel Neves, and sisters Maria Amelia Neves and Teresa Macedo, from Ribeira do Meio, Pico, Açores.

He was a proud member of the IES Society of San Jose, IFES Society of Mt View, and the Senhor Bom Jesus and Nossa Senhora De Fatima Societies at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church.

We would like to thank, Vera Guedes, his caretaker for the past 18 months, who shared a lot of wisdom, laughter, and smiles during those difficult days. Care Must Hospice, especially Anna, RN, Sara RN, chaplain, AnnaMarie, Home Health Aid, Ramjeet, Carlos, and Cynthia for all of their assistance, support, and care they provided our Husband/Father in his final days. They were truly angels and so invaluable to us and him.
