Kathleen Melody Blake, born in Grand Junction, Colorado, was a woman whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. At the age of three, Kathleen and her family moved to Santa Clara, California, where she would spend the rest of her life surrounded by the beauty and spirit of the Bay Area.
Kathleen had a passion for life that was reflected in her many interests. She loved to sew, sing songs she wrote about the Lord, and enjoy the timeless charm of old western shows. But it was her heart, her boundless generosity, and her unwavering love for others that defined her.
In her professional career, Kathleen dedicated over 30 years of service to Advent Group Ministries, a non-profit agency focused on providing affordable counseling to people of all ages as well as residential treatment and outpatient care to at-risk youth. As the receptionist, she greeted everyone with warmth, offering light and love in every interaction. Her presence was a beacon of comfort and positivity to those who crossed her path.
Kathleen’s legacy lives on through her family, whom she adored deeply. She is survived by her beloved husband, Steve, two children, Jill and Chad, two grandchildren, Jacob and Ashtyn, two sisters, Charmaine and Jeannine, and numerous precious nieces and nephews. She lived her life with an open heart, full of love, laughter, and happiness. Her memory will be cherished forever and she will be missed immensely by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have known her. May Kathleen’s light continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she's left behind.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in Kathleen's memory.
