Keith Alexander Schenk was born on July 6, 1961 in Redwood City, California to his parents Teresa and Theodore Schenk. He is survived by his wife Luiza, his children Kyle and Eness, his father Ted, his siblings Doug and Cindy, and countless loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, dear friends and in-laws.
Growing up in Cupertino, Keith was not one to do things the conventional way. After graduating from Cupertino High School, at the age of 18, he moved out of his parent’s house and began his career in the Printed Circuit Board industry as a silk screener. He learned his way around the PCB shop and worked his way to management. Upon realizing that higher education gets you to that extra necessary step to be successful, he went back to obtain his MBA through University of Phoenix.
With his knowledge, experience, education and the right partners, he founded Power Design Services, a quick turn PCB shop. He would later add an assembly shop as well and change the name to Power Design Manufacturing. The success of his business attracted many venture capitalists in 2015 and the company was eventually sold. This development allowed him to retire early so he could enjoy more time with his many projects and loved ones.
Keith was a hardworking man. He never started a project without finishing it. And as dedicated as he was to his work, his family was always his first priority and joy. He was a friend to all-generous, kind, and always happy to see or hear from you. He believed that how you treat others has everything to do with how they treat you back. He loved sampling the finer tastes in life mixed in with plenty of golf, wine making, and snow/water skiing. He was happy anywhere he was, whether he was at work dealing with business issues, at home working on his small projects with his son or at the delta with his brother Doug.
Keith fully retired in April 2017 and was diagnosed with cancer later that year. He spent the remainder of his wonderful life surrounded by family and close friends. They never left his side for a moment especially during the hard times. He will be missed every day and every minute by everyone who knew and loved him.
Keith touched many lives in many ways. If you would like to share your memories of Keith with his family, please email your stories to: [email protected]
