
Lucille Johnson (Dora Lucille Johnson), beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed on April 6, 2026 in Santa Clara, CA. She had resided in San Jose many years. She will be buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, San Jose, CA next to former husband Gordon Lawrence. She was 98 years young.
Born Dora Lucille Williams January 19,1928 in Davidson, Tillman county, Oklahoma to father William Butler McKinley Williams, Sr. and mother Dora Ann Griggs, she was pre-deceased by son Kerry Glenn Lawrence and by all of her 10 siblings, Oran Butler Otha Williams (Oran), Virginia Oleta (Deedie) Williams Couples, John Edgar (J.E.) Williams, Bertha Mae Williams Fink, William Butler Williams, Jr., Aubrey Dean Williams and four siblings who all died before the age of 2 in the 1930s in rural Oklahoma when she was a child herself.
She was married in 1945 in San Jose to the late Gordon Houston Lawrence and is the mother of Cleopatra Louise (Cleo) Lawrence (husband Bruce Albrecht), Edward Eugene Lawrence (and Judy Marbet) and Charles Mitchell (Chuck) Lawrence (and Cynthia Larson). She later married the late Elmer Peter Johnson in 1965. She has 17 grandchildren.
Lucille was friendly, sweet, spry and something of a rebel or free spirit. When she moved to a new assisted living facility years ago she convinced some of her new neighbors to add blue and red to their hair colorings, to the amusement of the staff. She enjoyed life and will be missed by many.
