It is always hard to say goodbye to a Matriarch of a family, and certainly that goes for a loss such as Lucy.
Lucy surely was one of a kind, and the word that comes to mind is, irreplaceable.

As Jessica's step-sister-in-law, I have had the pleasure of knowing Lucy for many years, sharing precious times and memorable holiday celebrations together at Dave and Jessica's home with other members of her loving family. Lucy was always easy to talk to and was genuinely interested in others. She asked questions with real concern and seemed to be able to see into your soul. The last time I saw her was Thanksgiving 2019, and we spoke a lot that day as we sat together on the couch. She was passionate about her family, and I'm better for knowing her and them. God bless the Echeverria family, and God bless Lucy. I'm sorry to have missed seeing her in 2020, but may we meet again one day in a better place. Love and respect 💗

Dear Lucy, as you now rest peacefully in the final destination, undoubtedly you are able to see the group of friends thinking of you and remembering the very special moments we all lived together.  It was you and Jose  the ones responsible for the birth of “the Fun American Club” providing our monthly get together’s that were so much fun and that now are nothing but unforgettable memories.  Rest In Peace as we all remember your joyful personality and pray for your eternal peacefulness.

Lucy & Jose's Last Dance

We all loved watching my parents dance cheek to cheek. May 10th, 2020 was their last dance before my mom's health declined.  

One of their favorite love songs was Como Han Pasado Los Anos (As The Years Have Passed) by Rocio Durcal. Take the time to watch the Spanish version on YouTube to truly understand the deep love my parents always had for each other.  A wonderful example and such a blessing for La Familia.

My siblings and I had the honor of meeting Aunt Lucy quite some time ago and always remembered her beauty and great personality. Aunt Lucy, Uncle Jose, Cousin’s Pamela and little brother came for a short visit to NYC and this brought us a lot of joy especially to our Parents. Our Dad (Esteban Amador Lopez who passed in 1990) is Uncle José’s first cousin. I also remember Mom (who passed away last year) telling me a number of times that Aunt Lucy would call to check up on her after my Dad passed away and and would ask about us and that meant a lot to me. I have mainly kept in touch with Cousin Pamela (who is amazing) and
hope to meet our other cousins one day. Rest In Peace Aunt Lucy. May God give Uncle Jose and our cousins the strength they need at this time. ❤️🙏🏼

Good and bad times. Fun and sad times. I will always remember the passionate person you were Mom. 

It’s still so hard to believe you’re gone. Lifetime memories of you flood my thoughts every single day. Especially living together over the last 14 months of your life just five blocks away from each other in our Rancho Cordova neighborhood. 

My most precious memory is very recent. How thrilled I was that you finally got to see the rivers edge just steps away from our homes along the American River Parkway. Just today I walked with Dad and we sat at the bench where the three of us would pass time relaxing, talking, enjoying nature, and making plans for the future.  

I will miss hearing your voice checking in on me or vice-verse. I will miss your singing and your stories. I will miss watching you and Dad slow dancing cheek to cheek. But most of all I will miss your compassion. You cared so much about everyone and everything. So much that it would hurt you at times. 

Rest now Beautiful Mother. We’ll be fine cause we know you’re watching and guiding us for the rest of our lives.

I will always remember my beautiful mother.  

Her love for her five children showed when we were little and the fun she had with us especially at bath time and watching us play outside through the kitchen window.

I always remember when she took me to Mexico when I was 13 years old. I was inspired by a singer I saw there and knew then, that’s what I wanted to be.

I loved brushing her luxurious hair.  Her words of wisdom always stuck in my head.

I’ll always remember her success in direct sales when she sold jewelry, cosmetics, clothing and Tupperware. She even won a car!
Her and I share the same admiration and love for antiques, furniture and collectibles.  I was proud of her when she had her own antique shops.

My mom and I also shared the love for jewelry and good clothing.  She had picked out quite a few of my stage outfits.

She had a love for visiting relatives.  On a whim, at breakfast she would ask me if I wanted to go to San Jose.  I would always say “Yes, let’s go!”  It would thrill her that she had a companion to go with her. Relatives would be glad to see us.

She would always tell the Filipino nurses that I sang in Tagalog because she was so proud of me.

In closing, I’ll always remember the best times my mom and I had.  I miss you Mom.

Lucy was a beautiful person with a lot of style!!!   Through her caring, love, kindness and smiles we always felt welcomed and enjoyed many conversations at gatherings throughout the years.

I remember when it all started, I met my best friend Pam at school, she lived  on Gilman St in Daly City and then a few years later and a Tupperware party Lucy recruited me.  

When I was looking at the collage of photos it showed that Lucy had such a remarkable life and it also reflected just how much love she had for her beautiful family.

Lucy you will be missed but never forgotten.  We Love You!!

I am going to miss Grandma Lucy. She was such a strong, classy, loving lady. She taught me so much. How to take care of myself, "Always wash your face before bed and don't sleep with your hair up." Who to trust, "Don't pick any wooden nickles." She instilled confidence, "We've got good genes." The most important of her lessons was about love and family. She loved me and my family. She always showed up for me. She would always include us and be intentional in keeping in touch.  

I miss you Grandma, but I believe you are watching over all of us from Heaven. I know we will meet again. I love you!

Grandma Lucy always showed great love and care to me and any of my friends she met. She always supported me when I updated her on my goals and progress, and was certain to advise me on changing my facial hair when she didn't like it 😊.  Thank you for loving us and watching out for our best interests Grandma! We love you!!

I was very blessed to meet Lucy 12 years ago when Lynn and I became very good friends and neighbors with Dave and Jessica. We shared many special occasions with the Echeverria family and during these celebrations I became very close to Lucy, she has and always will hold a special place in my heart. We shared a bond so close I unofficially adopted Lucy as my pseudo Mom. I miss you Madre Lucy, and will forever cherish our conversations and visits.

Luz was my mothers (Lupita Villalovos ') lifelong friend from Abilene, Texas.  I would like to share a story about Luz. 
Many years ago I was visiting my parents in Abilene (I live on Arlington TX) and I happened to answer their phone and it was Luz calling my mom, but before she let me go she asked for my phone number of which I was happy to provide.  Well, from then on if she couldn't reach my parents she would call me in Arlington to check on their whereabouts.  I just loved that; I loved that she  was always concerned if she didn't hear back from my mom.
To the family,   I hope  knowing that she is in a better place gives you calm and helps lessen the pain.  We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

I have fond memories of Luz. We attended Americansation Elementary school in Abilene, Texas. I remember playing jax and softball,  there were five of us girls who hangout together.  We walked home from school everyday. We lost touch after her family moved to California, but one day I received a call from Houston, Texas and it was Luz! I remember them coming to visit and staying with us.  We had a great time 
reminiscing  and stayed in touch throughout the years. My husband, Mickey, was also close. His sisters Las Villalovos and his big brother Felix were close friends to the Serranos; especially when Chelo Villalovos married Concha Serrano. 
Luz was a dear friend and will be missed very much. God bless you all.

I’m going to miss my Aunt Lucy and her kind smile. Aunt Lucy was always a welcoming and loving person, making everyone feel special. My sister Violet and I would get so excited when my parents took us to visit aunt Lucy and uncle Jose. As I got older I appreciated my Aunt Lucy’s memory, and all the stories she would tell us about her childhood and our big family. I love you aunt Lucy, and I’ll see you in my dreams until we meet again. 

I knew Lucy when I was very young.  I spent slot of time at her home playing with my best friend Jessica.  When the family moved to Texas well we lost touch.  But many years later I was at the home in Danville celebrating Jessica’s birthday and well Lucy was all for me putting birthday candles on Jessica’s cake.  Luckily we didn’t start a fire but she thought it was so cute for me to do that.
 Lucy and her family welcomed me in to their family with open arms at an early age she was my “other mom” .  I will miss you.  Love you

Lucy was the matriarch of the family. She loved and cared for all family members. She was there for me during some very difficult times. I will always be very thankful for her kindness and generosity that was extended to me. 

I never met my Grandmother Concha on my mother Connie's side of the family.  She passed away when my mom was only 16 years old.  Our family was lucky to have Concha's sister Lucy who always include us in family gatherings to celebrate milestones, birthdays, and holidays together.    Without my Great Aunt Lucy being the matriarch in the family, we would have missed so many memories and love that our family offers.   I will always have a place in my heart for Aunt Lucy.  I will follow in her footstep to show love for my family as she shared with my family throughout my life.  To my cousins, Pam, Rosanna, Jessica, Camile, and Antonio, to Uncle Jose.  I know this is going to be hard with Lucy's passing and there will be ups and downs but lean to each other for support and know that you are all loved so much.

I was about 18 years old when  Connie Villalovos asked me if I wanted to attend a party at the Hawaiian Gardens in San Jose.  This was about 1962.  Her Aunt Lucy and Uncle Jose would be there, I haven't met them before.  This was my first meeting with them.  What a great time with a great couple.  I remember that 1st time and many more parties and family gatherings that followed.  The loss of Aunt Lucy really hit me.    She always treated me and Connie really well and she will be missed.

Lucy and I were lifelong friends, We both were born in Abilene,Texas where we attended school and slso were membets of the Mexican Baptist Church. Lucy and I never lived close to one another but were friends who saw each other at school and at church  very regularly. Our older sisters were friends also. Our parents were church friends and therefore we visited in each others homes as well. Lately, Lucy and I enjoyed talking on the phone as we lived so far apart from one another. She lived in California  and I reside in San Antonio, Texas..

My mom was an incredibly honest and sincere person to everyone she knew. She valued staying in touch with friends & relatives, making them feel that someone cared. One of the reasons she loved antiques was their unique style and character, something she appreciated about people as well. Though her “treasures” were often relics of a simpler time, she admired their craftsmanship and attention to detail: An interest for the Artist who created them in a bygone era that mirrored her love for everyone she knew and cared for in her own.
   She was a true classic. A lady who personified impeccable style, excellent taste, good food & great times, meaningful conversation, and a deep, undying love for her greatest treasures: 
US.

We will miss her dearly.


Lucy, you and your family have made such a impact on me growing up.  You lived on Gilman Dr. which was across the street from my family's home.  I played with two of your children names: Jessica and Rosanna.  I played school and skated with them and tether ball and play records and Rosanna would sing, loved it.  You worked so hard and one of the jobs was a Tupperware Dealer and had the station wagon they gave you while selling this great stuff.  I loved going over to your home and listening to wonderful latin music.
You and your husband were wonderful  at having house party's for your husbands culture "Ecuadorian" club.  You alway's looked beautiful and dressed so very nicely.  You will be missed......  :(

Christmas will never be the same without your physical presence.  Merry  Christmas in heaven. I have so many treasured memories with you at Christmas. Spencer and I Christmas 2013 at the Danville home you  brought so many family members together over the years.

I am thankful for the last precious 20 hours that we spent with you on earth, which were surrounded by all your “chicks” and Dad by your bedside.

I remember how much you loved this poem.  At Christmastime, you would have me mail it to family and friends who’s loved one went to heaven before them.  Today, this poem brings me comfort knowing you are in heaven.

My memories of grandma are inexorably linked to her Danville house. The swimming pool, hot tub, and slide. The cases of delicate figurines that I was afraid to bump. The master bathroom with 2 wall sized mirrors that pointed at each other, creating an infinite space that allowed escape from what sometimes felt like a crushing mass of people during the holidays. The Christmas Story on repeat in the den during the holidays. The piano that we would plink away at. The bunnies on the lawn. The cage of doves that I swear exacerbated my speech impediment because I had to master cooing like they did and it messed with my 'R's.

I remember countless family dinners where each time I thought there would be no way we could squeeze everyone at the table. I remember a garage that seemed to be pulled from the Raiders of the Lost Ark, filling me with wonder and trepidation. 

And in the background always, my Grandma Lucy. As a grandkid, my memories are of her presence, more than her as a person. I couldn't tell you her favorite song or color, but the thing that sticks with me is her intensity. From her quiet fury when she was upset to the tight grip as she pulled you close to share a story. I remember her strength. I always will.

Rest in peace, sweet Lucy. I wish I had gotten to know you better. Your legacy will live forever. You were truly the matriarch of your wonderful family. I will always remember the wonderful birthday and Christmas gatherings. God bless you, you are in a better place now. I will miss you.

Growing up in Houston, I remember the wonderful dinner parties Lucy would throw: Listening to beautiful Spanish music, playing with their dog, & the graciousness of Antonio hosting my sister Pamela and I. It was such a relaxing and fun environment. Boy, I miss those times!

Lucy's wisdom and confidence was so helpful when I lacked direction. As my parents Eugene and Margaret has passed on, a part of me is empty. I feel that same about Lucy. Yet, their spirit remains in our hearts through our wonderful memories. 

 I miss her. Rest in peace.

My earliest memory of Lucy was in Huston, Texas at a New Year’s Eve Party. I remember there were confetti poppers and my cousins and I continued to sweep them up in our hands and throw them into the air. The Eucheverrias knew how to throw a party!

When I first moved to California in 1988, Lucy was quick to invite me to a Halloween Party in Danville, It was so nice to stay connected to family, and to just have a good time! I also remember a swim party with a luau theme, and Lucy had fresh leis in beautiful colors. My sister and I were reliving our gymnastic days and doing various flips off the diving board, and Camille’s friends wrote numbers on the back of their plates to give us the scores. 

I will miss Lucy, who always knew how to be a gracious hostess and loved a fun party. Now she’s feasting at the heavenly banquet with the Bread of Life. I love you, Cousin Lucy!

Of all of my dear father Eugene's friends, dear Lucy and Jose are the ones with whom I have kept in touch and feel strong connection. Much of this is due to Ms. Lucy's reaching out and keeping in touch with me whether I was near (Bay Area) or far (NYC). Beautiful Pamela has this wonderful quality of her Mother's and has helped keep my family connected with the Echeverria Family throughout the years. For this, I am forever grateful.

My earliest memories of Ms. Lucy were in Houston.  The warm welcomes she gave always amazed me. From when I was a little girl until now, I am in awe of how a friend of my father's could care enough to want to know how I am and spend time with me.  This is a precious gift.  And I love how Pamela, Rosanna, Jessica, Camille and Antonio are so simpatico in the same sweet sincere way as Ms. Lucy. With Julio Iglesias playing in the background, I loved the fun lively family atmosphere and warm Spanish decor of the Houston house.  This is contrast to what I was used to in my home (e.g. plain white walls and music seldom played). Also, these parties were rare occasions for my brother and I to have Mexican or Spanish food (I'm guessing that my Father was allergic to cumin). This very positive childhood experience and memory with the only Hispanic family we spent a lot of time with stayed with me until adulthood. And I believe it played a part in how I received and loved my future husband Freddy's Hispanic family. It was so much fun telling Tia Lucy about marrying a Latino. I can still hear her chuckle, and see her smile when she asked about mi esposo.  

Ms. Lucy has been a special blessing in her love for my family, and sharing memories of my parents fresh and cherished. My heart is saddened that she is passed, and I feel deeply for the loss for her family. But she gave us so many wonderful memories to continue to celebrate. We will always have her love in our hearts.

When I think of my  Aunt Lucy the first thing that comes to mind is her love for family.   Family to her was each and every generation of our relatives.  I  grew up very close to her children.  My mother Aurora  was her sister who I lost in 1983, and my father in 1988. 
When my father passed my Aunt took me under her wing and invited me to join her immediate family for Christmas Eve  that year and that became a tradition for many many years to come.  I have very many fond memories of the gatherings of family  that she initiated.   She truly was in many ways like a mother to me .   I am forever grateful to her for all the love she showered me with.   She is forever in my heart.
My sincerest condolences to  my Uncle Jose and my cousins for your loss.  

My aunt Lucy was my party aunt! And I salute her for that. She would have house or pool parties and call them family reunions, and why not. It was a good time to see Aunt's, Uncle's, cousin's and even friends that you probably hadn't seen in awhile. It was always a joy to visit the Echeverrias'  for me, due to the fact of their joy of music and the arts' was greatly appreciated, also inspiring. Cousin Lucy was one of the sweetest women I knew. She was always kind and soft-spoken. I'll always remember how stylish and classy she was. She was a true beauty inside and out.  You'll be missed cousin Lucy,  so until we see each other again, may you rest peacefully in paradise.

Lucy really enjoyed a mother's day lunch.  A few friends invited their mother's to lunch and brought them to my back yard where the mother's had lunch together while their daughters served them.  I do believe that all the mothers enjoyed meeting their daughter's friend's mothers and of course being served by all the daughters.   I hear Lucy spoke of that day often.  It was a wonderful day!

My Aunt Lucy shared such beauty, laughter and smiles with us, she was our glamorous aunt, and when she made an entrance into a room it was as if a Queen had arrived. I will always cherish those memories of her beauty. Her sharp memory was a special gift and she gave our family the flavor of what family togetherness and love meant for many generations to come. My family and I will miss the check up phone calls and the strength of her voice and remarkable glow that was brought into our lives from her. As I spoke to my Tio Jose today about my dad “Tony Serrano” and how he loved  his little sister Aunt Lucy, we both came into agreement that they are having a “Great reunion” in heaven. I will truly miss my Aunt that embraced me with Love. A diamond in the sky and a forever glow in my heart. ❤️

I’ll always remember our tradition of spending Christmas Eve with you. You were always so welcoming and generous with your home. Those evenings were crowded with family and love and celebration. Our family will miss you and we will always keep you in our hearts.

Lucy was a special lady.  I only met her a few times when she came to Texas. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting with Lucy.  She was very knowledgeable on a variety of subjects. Two main things we spoke of were antiques and family. You knew that family was extremely important to her after being with her for just a few minutes. Lucy spoke of her children, grandchildren, cousins, aunts, nieces and nephews.  She told us about family members that we knew very little about.  Lucy was a treasure trove of information.   
Heaven is a little richer by having Lucy, but the earth is a bit poorer with her no longer being here.  Prayers to her children and grandchildren on their loss.

-  I met Lucy when she was twelve. I was 20, and dating her big brother, Tony. The Serrano family had recently moved here from Texas because their sister, Esperanza, was very ill with tuberculosis and sister Aurora wanted her brought to our advanced hospitals. Tony’s brother, Joe, had been in the war and consequently suffered badly from it, and so Tony felt he needed to protect his sisters and Mom. Lucy was very pretty and the boys were crazy about her. Tony was their “protector”, even though Lucy didn’t want a  “bodyguard” since she was so active in her social circles and wanted to dance and have fun.  She had many friends, from her teen years throughout her life. When she started to have her children, her life changed to being more at home, continuing her love of people and family by having great BBQ’s and reunions. Family was important to her. I was with Lucy when she was in labor with her first baby, Pam. As She grabbed my hand, I remember thinking they had not had an easy life, but I knew she could handle whatever life would bring her. She had her mother’s faith and her father’s persistence. And she did do well in her life. May the Lord bring her Peace being in His care, with her beloved Mama and Papa again.

Siempre te recordamos con mucho amor y cariño, Tía Lucy por que para mi y mi familia fuistes una gran mujer y un gran ser humano, con un Corazón noble. Le doy gracias a Dios por a verte conocido y que me hayas echo sentir parte de tu familia, también tenemos tantos recuerdos maravillosos juntó a ti,como cuando nos invitabas a todas tus celebraciones. Gracias por todas tus bendiciones y tus consejos. Nunca te vamos a olvidar, por que siempre vivirás en lo más profundo de nuestros corazones... From the time I was a small child and Tia Lucy and Tio Agucho visited Ecuador, through my youth when I visited their home, and years later with their visit to my home, we were always a family with memories to cherish. You always made me and my family feel welcomed and loved. We will miss you Tia Lucy. Our love to our Tio Agucho and all our cousins! 

Lucy cared most about her family.  She loved each family member with all her heart and it showed!  Thank you for setting this example for others to follow.

I remember Lucy as a classy lady, and she always had a smile.  I didn’t get to see her that often, but I really enjoyed talking with her when I did. May she Rest In Peace and enjoy looking down on her family from Heaven!

As I write this I’m reminded of my aunt Lucy’s love for me and my Family. I was very sad when I got the news of her passing, but I was also at peace knowing she was no longer suffering and finally able to rest! after a long journey here on earth. I remember growing up going to her house every summer for those awesome pool parties. I use to love hanging out in the room with the piano, I couldn’t play a note for the life of me ! but I’d always be in there slamming the keys making some noise. There are many memories I will always hold dear to my Heart. It was such a blessing to take my family to her house and give them and piece of what this special place at aunt Lucy’s was for me as a kid, they Loved it!! I will especially miss those random calls and conversations we had, even if it were to just say hi and how I was doing, they meant so much.  I will miss my Aunt Lucy Very Much thank you for your love and kindness.

I remember as a little girl, going to school and telling all my friends that my Aunt was a movie star. And a beauty queen. And a flamenco dancer.  I really believed it. The proof was a beautiful portrait of her, hanging over my Gramma Elvira’s mantle. My Aunt Lucy looked like Elizabeth Taylor, with big beautiful eyes, jet black, fashionable hair, big gold hoop earrings. And she told me she was in a parade because she won a beauty contest! She had Spanish castanets that she’d click for me when I was little, and pretended she was a Spanish dancer. She was always my glamorous Auntie.  She always said, “Just remember: the Serrano’s have a lot of pride.” That became my motto in life. I used it to remind me to take pride in my work, education, and in my art. I give Aunt Lucy credit for being a strong woman, and trying to pass that on to the Serrano women. It was a good balance for me, having a Mom who is beautiful and graciously humble and two aunts who were beautiful and strong (Aunt Aurora and Aunt Lucy).  In today’s world, it takes strength for a woman to get through life’s challenges. But in heaven, there aren’t challenges because Paradise is peaceful. May she Rest In Peace.

WOW!  I STILL cannot believe this day is here...I'm in COMPLETE shock.  Somewhere deep inside me I HOPED she'd live forever (unrealistic, I KNOW) or at least until 100.  I'll always remember Aunt Lucy's passion for justice, I THINK I take after her, and/or learned so much from her about this.  She was my grandpa's last living sibling and knew how close I was to him.  She gave me an endearing nickname.  We had our disagreements, but ALWAYS made it a point to make up because as she always put it to me, "life is too short.". 

I love her so much and always will.  She taught me a lot of lessons.  I loved sitting next to to her and listening to her stories, I love that she did her best to include me in close family events, I loved how she encouraged me and believed in me, I loved that she ALWAYS remembered me and made it a point to call me, I love that she always told me she loved me, I loved how concerned she was about me when I told her I didn't feel loved (I definitely do now, but at that time I didn't), I loved her compassion for me just because I am a Serrano, I loved the pride she had to be a Serrano, I loved sooo much about her.  

We had our disagreements, but our love for each other always outweighed them.  I had a special connection with her and she with me.  My grandpa (Tony Serrano) was my Guardian Angel while on earth and when he passed away, she took me under her wing.... I will NEVER forget it and promise to do the same for others.  Aunt Lucy wasn't perfect, but she was FULL of love and connection.  She was such a loyal person to so MANY and at the end of the day, I value these over perfection.  

I will always love you Aunt Lucy, I wish you could have stayed to meet my husband and kids, someday, but I understand, sometimes you just gotta go. -Lilita

I will always remember Lucy as a strong and loving woman.  I saw how she loved her family so much and I have great childhood memories of when the whole family would come to visit my parents (Gil and Esther).  I was always thrilled knowing I was going to play with the girls.

And Lucy was always sweet with me.  She would always tell me about the pictures she had of me when I was a child.  She even sent me a wonderful picture of me as a little girl at a picnic with my future husband Steve.  We were in line for a potato sack race, but we didn’t know each other at the time.

I remember in the late 60’s and 70’s how our families and their friends would get together for parties and dance a lot.  Lucy loved to dance and socialize.  Those will always be wonderful memories for me.

Lucy and my Mom, Esther, were close friends.  I know they had many wonderful times together.  My parents became compadres to Lucy and Jose by baptizing their daughter Camille.  Now Lucy and my Mom are in heaven continuing their friendship.

I was saddened to hear that Great-Aunt Lucy passed away. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to introduce her to my own family, my husband Jack and our son. Aunt Lucy was very welcoming and kind and I will always remember the times we gathered for her parties and special events. 

My mother Hope is thankful to have spent time visiting with her dear aunt and shares in sadness of her loss.

We miss you Aunt Lucy.




 

The Bagleys share many wonderful memories with Mrs. Echeverria. She would attend all Family functions.. Birthday parties,  numerous baby showers, baptisms and wild Crazy Holloween parties. Christmas was the best.
She always had very nice things to say about everyone.  She would make you feel at home where ever you were.
We love and miss you.

We can see Grandma Lucy in the legacy of love and nurture that we so appreciate in her granddaughter, our daughter-in-law, Nicole. We can see that same legacy in Grandma Lucy’s daughter, Pamela, and how she passionately cares for our shared grandchildren. And we have experienced, ourselves, Grandma Lucy’s gracious and welcoming spirit at extended family gatherings. What an impact!  

We spent our first Easter in America at Pamela’s home with Jessica, her siblings and both you and your husband ...... what a warm welcome from all of you ..... we have met you at Jessica’s parties over the years and you were always so kind and good fun .....rest in peace beautiful lady, it was an honor knowing you !

I remember all of the stories that you would share with me though our years of friendship, about your mom (parents) and just how much you love them!  You would do anything for them, and still do!  She was a beautiful lady, and blessed to be loved by her wonderful, large, family!  13 siblings!?  Oh my goodness!  So happy that she could be at your vow renewal.. that was so special!  ❤️ Sorry for your loss!  

I’ll always remember your mom’s hearty laugh, beautiful smile and that our moms were such close friends.

I lost my mom, one of Lucy's sisters, Aurora Serrano Figuerado when I was 24 years old. All my life I have been close to my Aunt Lucy and Uncle Jose and cousins. When I got married in Hawaii where I lived, my Aunt wouldn't miss it we were blessed she came! She flew from California to be there with me. I had prayed for years that in big life changing events, my mom would be with me in Spirit. My Aunt looked so much like my mom that day. She even said the hairdresser fixed her hair similar to what my mom's would have looked like! My pictures of that special day with my Aunt are so precious to me! My mom was there in Spirit! I will miss my Aunt Lucy dearly... 

One of my fondest memories and happiest times growing up was  spending time with the whole Echeverria family.   There was always someone to play with.  What I loved best about Lucy was her style.  Having grown up in the 60 and 70, she would have the latest hairstyle and clothing.  From Bouffant hair, dresses and pantsuits, Lucy could enter a room and all eyes would be turned towards her.  She was a beautiful  classy lady.  She also kept up with the whole family and she had so many friends who loved and adored her.   When you all moved to California, I cried knowing that our time together would not come so easy.  From Pamela making you feel special,  Rosanna with her newest record albums, to Jessica singing in the fan with me, Camille running around trying to keep up with the big kids,  and little Jose’s shyness,  each one of you hold a special place in my heart!  I love you so much and I’m thankful for you, my family!  I know that Lucy and my dad are getting all caught up in heaven and who knows they might even be dancing a good Cha Cha Cha!
