Marie A. Mazzocco

Born on October 5, 1941, in Youngstown, Ohio, Marie was the oldest of five children born to

John and Amelia DiRenzo, second generation Italian immigrants. In 1962, Marie married E.D.

“Muzzy” Mazzocco, and the two traveled across the country the following year and settled in

San Jose, California, where they raised their three children.

When Muzzy opened a couple dry cleaning businesses, Marie helped with accounting and

filling-in wherever needed. Outside of work, their days, nights and weekends were filled with

school activities and 4-H events, soccer fields and swim meets, Sunday drives to the city, coast

and mountains. They instilled their sense of adventure on their kids, with RV camping, water

skiing and Lake Tahoe snow activities.

Marie loved cooking her family’s Italian recipes and sharing homemade cookies with friends

and neighbors. She was an early adopter of aerobics at the Y. Her Youngstown roots were

never forgotten, and Marie cherished her annual trips back to Ohio to visit family.

In her later years, Marie never missed a chance to spend time with her four grandchildren, her

greatest love of all. Blessed to have them all living nearby, she was their number one fan,

supporting them in everything they did.

Marie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Muzzy. She is survived by son Joe and his

wife Wendi, daughter Chris and her husband Barron, son John and his wife Marian,

grandchildren Lily, Tessa, Anthony and Angela, siblings JoAnn (Bob), John (Nancy), Anthony

(Jeannette) and Rose (Rick), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on April 30, 2025, at 10:00am at Holy Spirit Church, 1200 Redmond

Ave, San Jose, CA 95120.
