Mark, 35, is survived by his son, Justin, his parents, Samuel & Christine, his sisters, Yvette, Rosana, & Stephanie and many immediate family members including but not limited to Noreen, Michael, Gilbert, Miguel, Martin and the list goes on and on, of our large family and many, many friends.
Mark was always releasing positive energy and smiling … he always knew just what to say. He’s the one you could hear coming from a mile away… yelling (it drove everyone crazy!). He loved family get-togethers … He LOVED all his family and friends, but no one as much as his “Handsome Man, Justin”.
His son Justin was his pride and joy … bragging about him every chance he got … or yelling through an apartment complex at 3:00 in the morning that he “LOVES JUSTIN!!!!” (Yes he did this on several occasions, in fact he yelled this every chance he got, at the beach, on the phone … you name it)
Mark loved sports (especially football) …overly passionate of his RAAAIDERRRS! … and the A’s and Warriors too. We would love to believe the Warriors won the Championship this year, just for him. He loved his teams … loved tailgating with family and friends … and loved it most when Justin was able to enjoy his favorite past time with him. Although he may be gone he will be sitting at your side yelling … RAAAIDERRRS! (no matter what you’re doing or what sport you’re watching).
Mark was passionate about all types of music … everything from Kelly Clarkson, to RiRi (he had no problem connecting to his feminine side!), to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, to Sublime, to Tupac, to Dr. Dre and of course let’s not forget The Smashing Pumpkins “1979” … and the list goes on … and on … and on.
He was obsessed with Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese and John Singleton’s movies …Pulp Fiction his all-time favorite movie … can you hear him excited to repeat his favorite scenes over and over again….…And let’s not forget how he forced upon us, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and any other movie that took place in Hawaii … His favorite place on earth.
Mark wore his heart on his sleeve … He could drive you crazy or just make you feel so understood … so good, so beautiful, so handsome, and so perfect. He was the most empathetic person...and he knew just when you needed a hug or something to make you laugh or smile.
Mark had many honorary brothers and many, many friends because he was loved by all … so much so, that someone at his recent job posted this touching quote about Mark,
“How very quietly you tiptoed into our world, silently, only a moment you stayed but what an imprint your footprints have left upon our hearts” (Author Unknown)
It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to Mark (Dad, Poo-pa, FatBoy, R8dershark, Shark Dog, Mark the Fart, Mark the Robot, and Shawwdy!! or whatever nickname you call him) … he had so many! Although our hearts are breaking, we must set him free and let him rest in peace.
Let us all celebrate his LIFE! In his honor, dress comfortably as if you are on sitting on the beach in Hawaii.
