Martin was born in San Jose, California, in 1961. He was 5th generation of early pioneers of Amanda and Theodore Johnson from Grivee, Sweeden, who came over in 1884. Upon leaving the ancestral home he was raised in, he started his own ranch in the San Juan Valley. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, and son, Lucas, his parents, Theodore and Dorothy, and his brother, Troed. He was also survived by his nieces and nephew, Megan Kelly, Christine, and Carl as well as a whole host of cousins. Martin attended the same school district as his grandfather and great grandfather did. Martin worked most of his life, 28 years, at Lockheed Martin in Sunnyvale but his true calling was a farmer. He needed farming like he needed air; it was his heart and soul. Martin met Audrey in 1997 in the rectory of his Catholic Church during the birthday party of his best friend Kevin. They were married three years later on March 23, 2000. In 2004 Martin and Audrey met Lucas, a darling little boy who they adopted less than a year later. Martin was never still. When he wasn’t working at Lockheed or farming his land, he was playing with his antique cars and tractors. Martin and Audrey were members of several car clubs including the Antique Automobile Club. His favorite run was the Santa Clara Valley Motel T Ford Club Endurance Run in which he went on 34 runs in 36 years. He only missed two. His first run was in the speedster he built himself at age 15. Martin loved all things outdoors including fishing and camping with his family but his favorite place in the world was The Happiest Place on Earth…Disneyland. He had an entire room in his house devoted to Disney and until the last couple years of his illness he went an average of 12 times a year. He loved animals of every shape and size, but his beloved Rocky (his saint bernard) was always his favorite. One of his favorite memories was of carrying Rocky several miles in Yosemite National Park because Rocky was just too tired to continue. Rocky was only 5 months old but he weighed about 50 pounds. Martin had a smile that would light up the sky. He was always full of joy and positive about life. He will be so missed by all who knew him.
