It is with deepest sorrow to announce the passing of our beautiful Mommy, Mary Helen (Flores) Marquez, on August 29th, 2020 in San Jose, CA. Funeral service will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery on September 25th, 2020. Ceremony will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am and burial will follow.
She was born in Sonora, AZ, on April 9th, 1939 to Noe and Maria (Casas) Flores. The youngest daughter of 10 siblings including 7 brothers and 2 sisters; Joe, Manuel, Tommy, Ruben, Gilbert, Danny, Armando, Pauline, and Frances. Life, Laughter and Love are the three words that best describe our Mom.
In her 81 years, mom was devoted to caring for her family. She met the love of her life, Ramon M. Marquez (predeceased), at the early age of 16 and began their journey together which became a lifelong love of 64 years. Together they defined the true meaning of marriage and built a family that included 6 children, 15 grandkids and 31 great-grandkids. She mainly stayed home taking care of her family but would not hesitate to work when times were needed. She worked in retail, the cannery and last electronics (Wafer Fab). She was a dedicated, hard worker in everything she did including taking care of her family.
Mom had an incredible sense of humor that she enjoyed sharing with friends and family. Everyone that knew her was fortunate to witness her joyful side. She always brightened up the room whether she was singing, dancing, being silly or teasing one or all of us. Up into her last days with us, her little spark of humor would pop out and surprise us. Through memories, her spark will always be with us.
We, her family, are all so fortunate and grateful to God for blessing us with a wonderful mother. She loved unconditionally and made everyone feel important. The memories we share with her will never be forgotten, especially the holidays. Every holiday with her was special and her traditions will be carried on throughout generations.
Ever so faithful to God, our Lord Jesus Christ and the blessed Virgin Mary, we feel comfort in knowing she is in heaven with them along with her forever Love, our Dad. Rest in Peace our sweet loving Mama. Until we meet again.
She is survived by her loving family; Daughters: Elizabeth (Barry), Martha, Debbie (Edrick), Diana (Randy), Michelle (Eddie) and Son, David. 15 Grandchildren, Matthew (Jessica), Alana (Mason), Christopher (Jacqueline), Andrew, Gabriel (Rachael), Miranda, Monique (Roger), Gina (Miguel), Christina (Andrew), Nicole (David), Erika, Gabriella, Davina, David Jr., Solomon and 31 great-grandchildren.
