Michael DuBrow, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 23, 2019 in Northern California due to complications from cancer. Michael was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and was adored by family and friends. He was born on August 10, 1942 to Harry and Faye DuBrow in Hartford, CT, where he grew up. He attended Weaver High School, obtained his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and his master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He married his beloved wife, Deborah Sternberg, on June 19, 1971 in Milford, CT, the beginning of 48 years of happiness together. Michael worked in the technology field throughout his career and is no doubt remembered fondly (and with a chuckle) by numerous colleagues from SNETCo, ITT, Sheraton, and Price WaterhouseCoopers. For the past 14 years, Michael and Deborah lived at Trilogy in Rio Vista, CA where together they teamed up on the bocce ball courts and were leaders of the Drama Club. Most recently, Michael proudly served as CFO of the Trilogy Master Board. He was also a dedicated spectator, always eager to watch his children and grandchildren perform, play and do the things that they love. Michael is survived by his wife, Deborah, his four children, Alan (Kimberly), Steven (Lisa), Alissa (Jonathan Meltzer) and Eric (Meredith), his eight grandchildren, Adam, Alex, Scott, Samantha, Jeremy, Julia, Joshua and Jacob, his nieces and nephews, and his dog, Gus. He was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Roberta Rudin. He is remembered for his dry sense of humor, his analytical mind, his handyman skills, and his kind smile. A graveside funeral service will be held at the Home of Peace Cemetery in San Jose, CA on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at 1:30 pm. Shiva will be held at his daughter’s home in Los Gatos, CA on Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm-7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Michael’s name to the American Cancer Society.
