Nora was born on February 18, 1944 in San Fernando, La Union, Philippines. She was the eldest daughter of Victor Zafra and Ausuncion Pulido and had 13 other siblings. In 1967, Nora received her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Far Eastern University. After starting her career at Lorma Hospital in the Philippines, she came to the U.S. in the 70s where she lived and worked in various states: Illinois, Florida and California.
Her and husband Wilfredo shared their first years together in southern California where they bought their first home in Lakewood, followed by Cerritos, before moving up north and settling down in San Jose. In 1981, Nora gave birth to her first and only child, Craig.
As a family, they shared a love for the Lakers and spent time together watching basketball games at home. Her personal hobbies were reading, listening to her CD collection and when she retired from Kaiser, she spent much of her free time socializing with friends, going to church and traveling.
She is survived by her husband Wilfredo, son Craig, daughter-in-law Melissa and granddaughter Kennedy. She also leaves behind her siblings: Ofelia, Thelma, Vicky, Paz, Zenaida, Daisy, Victorio Jr., Eduardo (Eddie boy), Dennis, Mildred and Jovito.
Thank you all for joining us today to celebrate and honor her life. We are grateful for the outpouring of love, support and prayers that you’ve so graciously offered up during this time.
