I think about you every single day and it's hard to believe that one year has already passed by. I love you and I miss you.

Tio Pete was the coolest of uncles; one of the best dancers, too! He was always nice to me. Tio Pete loved his family, the Dallas Cowboys and Tex-Mex music, specially Little Joe y la Familia.

One time we went to a Little Joe concert and we bought him a bright green cap. Tio Pete loved that cap, although it was anything but subtle. He somehow was able to make the cap look very good on him. 

He had great timing on playing jokes on you. One time, coming back from high school, I walked past a car shop. He was working on his diesel truck but I did not notice. Suddenly, men started saying "Hey good-looking, how are ya?" and I could hear men following me. I was started to get nervous and tried to walk more briskly, getting nervous with every step. Armed with a brief dose of courage, I turned around to face the 'threat', only to find Tio Pete laughing as hard as he could. I remember being mad at him at the moment, only to find me later on in tune with the prank. 

Lately, when I talked to him, I admired the way he could always make me feel even if there was long lapses of time in between our phone calls. There was never a "What happened to you? I have not heard from you in ages?" That was never the case. He had this knack of making you feel you had just talked with him yesterday. He was always genuinely glad when you called and made sure you felt that way as well.

Tio Pete was my cool uncle and I am so grateful he was part of my life. Thank you, Tio Pete.

Romelia, gracias por compartir a Pete con nosotros. Conoci a Pete desde los 50's en San Angelo, TX. Siempre tan trabajador y buscando nuevas y mejores oportunidades viajamos juntos hasta San Jose, California. 

Fue generoso buscandoles trabajo a familia cuando estaba en Stapleton. Cuando nuestra querida sobrina Dora fallecio, ustedes nos acompanaron a Mexico y estuvieron con nosotros en todo momento. Cuando estuve enferma, nos ofrecio su casa en Oroville para cambiar de aires y ponerme mas fuerte. 

Gracias, Pete, por tu ayuda y tu amistad a lo largo de tanto tiempo.

Great men are never forgotten....you always greeted family and friends with a smile, and we absorbed every ounce of you Love. We will keep your memory alive in our heart, thoughts and prayers.

Uncle Pete, one goes through life building a legacy. Most times, our net worth is measured not in material possessions, but rather, how many people we met and coexisted appreciate having met us. Hey Grandpa I just wanted to let you know that I miss you dearly and I love you so much you will always have a speacial place in my heart and you will not be forgotten . I'm going to stay strong for Natellie  my grandma and family because I know that's something you would want me to do. I know your looking down on all of us and our now our Guardian angel . I know one day Grandpa that we will meet again and we will dance the night away hand and hand and cheek against cheek :) just like what you said when I didn't have a date to my senior prom and you grabbed my hand and sweeped me off my feet and we had danced in the kitchen laughing and having a good time . I love you very  much and I can't wait to meet with you on your new journey that you have just began. Death can not separate our love that we have for eachother and the many good times we had shared. It just brought us closer and till the day we meet again I know you will watch over Natellie and I and of course all your  grand children and your great grand children
