Quan was born in Vietnam on Lunar July 23rd, 1930 to father, Chuong Ly and mother, Kieu Truong. He moved to mainland China at a very young age but moved back and settled in Vietnam when he was 11 years old.
At the age of 21, Quan married Sang and they began their lives together. Quan and his wife worked tirelessly to build up their bakery business that became well known in their town. He was a very well-rounded businessman who gained respect by many others. He was a witty, devoted, charming, generous, hard-working family man. His joy in life was indulging in great cuisine while sipping on his favorite cognac alongside his family and friends. His sense of humor and infectious laughter will always light up the room.
In 1980, Quan immigrated to America with his whole family in search of a better future for his children. The journey was difficult, but one by one, his children thrived, and he retired. He hustled for half of his life and was able to slow life down to enjoy gardening and home cooked meals. Besides his love of savory food, he also had a sweet tooth for desserts. His favorite dessert was the sticky rice pudding with black eyed peas. His favorite hobby was to visit the nursery with his wife to acquire an assortment of plants, flowers and bonsais home to nurture. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
