

Ramon Chavez Campos was born on December 2, 1940 in Buena Vistilla Michoacan Mexico. Born to Pedro Castaneda Campos and Maria Magana Chavez. His father passed away at the young age of thirty, and his mother deceased at the age of sixty-two. In his early years he lived in Las Trujitas Michoacan. At the age of one Ramon and his family moved and settled in the pueblo of El Limon Michoacan Mexico.
His siblings are Mercedes Campos Alvarez, (deceased) Socorro Chavez Campos, (deceased) Luis Chavez Campos, (deceased) Socorro Chaves Campos 2nd, (deceased) Petra Campos Mendoza, (living) Magdalena Chavez Campos, (deceased).
Although he did not go to school often he knew how to count and manage money at a young age. He was a hands on and visual learner. (In Aguililla Michoacan Ramon helped with the construction of schools and water drainage systems) When Ramon was three years old his father passed away and left him to be the man of the house. His first job was at the age of five. Ramon’s mother contracted him to a wealthy family (the Alvarez family) where he was to tend the duties of learning and becoming an agriculturalist.
His hobbies at that time were playing marbles, tops and making slingshots. He made his own chewing gum at the age of seven years old, and loved to play volleyball with the kids from the rancho. At the age of twenty-two Ramon listed in the Mexican military and learned the basics of combat. Soon after Ramon met the mother of his children Imelda Alvarez Campos. His mother (maria) and older sister (Mercedes) persuaded him to ask Imelda out because she came from a strong, good catholic family. Ramon and Imelda married when he was twenty-five years old and lived with his mother Maria. Ramon’s best friends were Pedro Alvarez, Jose Alvarez, and Julio Mendoza. Ramon Chavez Campos always looked up to Margarito Alvarez who he considered a father figure. As a young adult his hobbies were being a horse jokey, ladies man and love to garden his own vegetables. (Especially watermelon) Ramon and Imelda had their first four kids in Mexico. He crossed the border into the United States of America in May of 1970 to pursue the American dream and give his kids a better life. He was a dishwasher at a Mexican restaurant. Living in San Jose California on his own he soon saved money to bring his wife to the United States. Leaving his children with his older sister Mercedes, and left his newborn child with his mother-in-law. Ramon’s first-born nephew Ponciano Campos Alvarez helped reunite his children from Mexico to the U.S. Ramon began a career in janitorial services in Mountain View California. In 1979 Ramon captured the American dream by purchasing his first home on Sumatra ave, San Jose California. Ramon and Imelda soon had four more children growing the family into seven boys and one girl. Ramon enjoyed his children and soon his first two grandchildren. In his later years he was divorced and lived with his two sons Jesus and Pedro Campos. He had many hobbies at this later age. He enjoyed ridding his bike, watching Cantinflas movies, Pedro Infante, Antonio Aguilar and Vicente Fernandez. He also loved watching sabado gigante. Ramon Chavez Campos was a hardworking man and always talked proudly of his children.
