Ricardo was born to Gonzalo Orellana and Maria Garcia in San Salvador, El Salvador on March 13, 1941.
After attending El Salvador’s ENCO Business School, he became an accountant and then an auditor, a profession he enjoyed.
In 1969, he married Lucy and moved to New York to begin a new life together and to raise a family. After hard work and determination, he and Lucy managed to own a cafeteria, in addition to Ricardo proudly earning his yellow taxicab driver’s license.
In 1970, he and Lucy moved their family to California, where he worked for many years at electronic companies. He went on to earn his diesel truck driver’s license. After he retired, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching TV, and being around his grandchildren. He also loved traveling to El Salvador every year. While his health prevented him from traveling to E.S. this year, he was always very proud of his Salvadoran heritage, as well as his Brooklyn, New York roots,
He is survived by his wife Lucy, his children Will, Harriet (Anatole), and his grandchildren William, Lily, Carmen and Victoria. He will always remain with us in spirit.
