It is with great sadness that the family of Richie Morin announce his sudden passing. On Saturday, February 13th, 2021, Richie Morin “The Turd,” loving husband, father, brother, and friend passed away at the age of 31. He was welcomed into heaven by his beloved grandmothers, Joyce Morin and Agustina Saavedra, and his uncle, Steve Morin.
Richie was born on April 6th, 1989 in San Jose, California to Lupe and Richard Morin. He was the middle child, but number one in his parent’s eyes. Richie was a graduate of Branham High School and worked at Ray Scheidts Electric, the Morin Family business.
While at Branham, Richie met his future wife, Kelsey Van Sambeek, and on August 19, 2016 they married. Together, they had two sweet and sassy children, Marlow (5) and Pierson (2).
He will be forever remembered for his loving spirit, infectious laugh, and generous heart. His loved ones will think of him every time they lay under the stars at Lake Almanor or go halibut fishing in Alaska. They will remember celebrating with him every time the 49ers or Sharks win and remember hunting with him everytime they see a duck fly by. His loved ones will happily look back on his life while thinking of the amazing memories shared together. All these little things encompassed who Richie was and how he will be remembered. He will be dearly missed by all.
Richie is survived by his wife, Kelsey, their two children, Marlow and Pierson, his sisters, Tiffany and Rebecca, and parents, Lupe and Richard, and his beloved pets but most especially his best friend Gorbin the dog.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 at the Willow Glen Funeral Home at 12pm. A prayer service to follow at 1pm with an available live stream. Attendance is by invitation only and limited to close friends and family due to COVID-19.
