Richard passed away in the early morning of October 18th, 2010 at his home in San Jose holding his son Glenn’s hand. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather.
Richard was born and raised in Fresno, California. During WWII at the young age of 4, Richard and his family was sent to an internment camp in Jerome, Arkansas. Once the family was released, they moved back to Fresno, where Richard later attended Washington Union High School, and graduated in 1956.
Following high school Richard joined the National Guard and served for two years. After his time in the Guard, he attended UCLA, where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the field of engineering. Richard became a mechanical engineer and was employed by Lockheed, Transafile, and Zyenetics. After retirement, he began a company called Cubic Positioning Inc.
Richard was a big sports fan who loved to watch his sons play sports throughout their athletic careers. He was a coach for the Milpitas Knights Youth Football Organization. He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing darts, watching his favorite teams: the Oakland Raiders, Boston Celtics and New York Yankees and singing Karaoke with his best friends Judy and Gary Laino.
Richard is preceded in death by his wife Viola “Vee” Seto, his parents Roy and Mary Seto, and his sister Patricia Tanaka.
Richard is survived by his sons, Ryan K. Seto, his wife Pamela and grandson Ryan K. Seto Jr., Glenn I. Seto, Leigh K. Seto, his wife June, and grandsons Xzavier, Roderick, Cyrus, and Quaid, Tim Jackson; his brothers Edward Seto, Leroy Seto, and Jerry Seto, his sisters Margie Jofuku, Dorothy Nakagawa, and numerous nephews and nieces. Numerous other friends considered him their father.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 6:00 pm. The funeral services will be held on Monday, October 25, 2010 at 10:00 am. Both services will be held at the Willow Glen Funeral Home, 1039 Lincoln Ave in San Jose.
