

Rita Parry was born in San Jose on February 22, 1941, to Jack H. Parry and Madelein Mendosa Parry. Rita was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and San Jose State University. As a native of San Jose, Rita had deep roots in the community. Although she had no children, she adored her pets and treated them like family. She was a beloved and kind-hearted woman, cherished by everyone who knew her. Rita was incredibly generous, offering to help anyone in need. During her college years, Rita bought her first car, a Buick Skylark Convertible which she loved to drive. She developed a love for dining out from her father, a habit she maintained throughout her life, becoming well-known among local restaurant staff. For many years, Rita was an active member of the Moose Lodge. She volunteered there for more than 40 years.
Rita married Glenn Ray in 1992. Glenn was a pilot. Along with Glenn, Rita developed a passion for airplanes. During their marriage, Rita and Glenn owned several airplanes. Sadly, Glenn preceded Rita in death in 1999.
Rita dedicated 34 years to teaching elementary grades in the Alam Rock School District where her students adored her. In her early career, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service. She had a passion for travel, embarking on numerous excursions to destinations such as Mexico, Hawaii, San Diego and San Padre Island in Texas. Rita loved the ocean and beaches, frequently taking day trips to Santa Cruz. Rita will be missed by all who knew her.
