Some of his happiest times were playing trumpet in jazz and mariachi bands in high school and college as he pursued a major in music. He graduated from San Jose State in Music, was drafted, and served in Hawaii with the U.S. Army playing music for military events and always taps.
He and his wife met, fell in love, and became official domestic partners. They have been together for 55 years.
His music teaching career began at Middletown High School and later moved to Sylvandale Middle School as band director. He also traveled the district circuit teaching music to students at all levels.
After retirement, he missed working with kids and spent many years at Evergreen Valley College in their reading lab with kids who struggled with reading and English. The kids followed him around because they liked him so much.
People call Bob sweet, fun, always ready for a laugh, an all-round good guy. A kid at heart.
He leaves his sister, Leonor, and the family he married into: Pat Andrews wife, Lisa and Christopher kids, Danielle and Jennifer, grandkids, Danielle's husband, Jose, and great grandkids Faustino, Maribel, Cataleya, Nikolas, Mateo and his beloved cat, Annie.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.willowglenfuneralhome.com for the Mora family.
