

He was predeceased by his wife Adeline Balmania Muya in 2010, and his son Arnold (Brenda) Muya in 2008. He is survived by his children: Ronald (Patricia) Muya, Herbert (Angela) Muya and Grace (Eric) Mussynski, and his five cherished grandchildren: Amanda, Alyssa, Alanna, Bradley and Isabella.
Romeo was born on October 3, 1937 in Santa Cruz, Zambales, Philippines to Felix Alejandro Muya and Leopolda Mena. He graduated at the top of his class from FEATI University’s Maritime College in Manila in 1958 and served as a 2nd Officer in the Philippine Merchant Marines.
He married Adeline in 1962. In 1970 they immigrated to the United States with their young family seeking a brighter future, first to Honolulu, Hawaii and later to Daly City, then San Jose, California.
He worked in maintenance at a meat plant in Hawaii, as a railroad engineer at Southern Pacific in Daly City, and eventually as a Local 39 stationary engineer at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, retiring in 2001. A hands-on, selfless patriarch, Romeo loved gardening, trips to the casino and most of all spending time with his family.
Romeo’s warmth, generosity and love will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
Visitation: Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow Street, San Jose, CA on October 29, 2025 from 4:00-8:00pm (Blessing and Rosary at 5:00pm). Funeral Mass: Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2040 Nassau Drive, San Jose, CA on October 30, 2025 from 1:00-2:00pm, with reception to follow.
