Shirley Ann Bowman, 81, went to be with our Lord on December 23, 2014. Shirley was the youngest daughter of Lester H. Schottler and Ruth Eva Markley, both of which preceded her in death, as well as her three sisters, Mrs. Louise Cann, Mrs. Esther Middlemore, and Mrs. Carol Ewing. She is also preceded by her great-granddaughter Emily Louise Lavender and her beloved husband, Earl Kenneth Bowman, whom she joined in Heaven on their wedding anniversary. Shirley was a third-generation Native Californian who was retired from FMC Corporation in San Jose, California. She was an original telephone operator, which was a coveted career for young women. In the 1980’s Shirley enjoyed a bit of success in Real Estate before the market crashed and forced her into another career. Shirley was a wonderful painter who also enjoyed genealogy, antiques, computers, going to the casino, and being with her family. Shirley’s greatest pride and joy were her five children, whom she leaves behind with her legacy of faith, Sharon Ann (Christopher) Wallace, Linda Sue (John) Bremer, Ralph Alan “Bud” Addington, Tammy Rae Foley, and Pamela Lee Bruins, all from the San Francisco Bay Area. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday December 28, 2014 at 5:00 pm at Willow Glen Funeral Home 1039 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, California. Private interment in Oroville, California.
