Sylvia Alba Toll, 85, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026. She was born on April 12, 1940, in Pittsburg, California, to Jose Melecio Alba and Maria de la Luz Garibay. For twenty years, Sylvia embraced life as a devoted Navy wife, moving wherever duty called before settling with her family in San Jose, California. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Toll.
Sylvia is survived by her four children—Ann Marie Acosta, Debbie Oliva, Joey Toll, and Mickey Rodarte—her eight grandchildren, Robert, Joshua, Macy, Madilynn, Jolene, Anthony Jr., Nicholas, Lukus, and her great granddaughter, Luna. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating meaningful moments with them.
A gifted storyteller through photographs, Sylvia carried her camera everywhere, capturing the beauty in everyday life. She loved planning family adventures—road trips across the country, themed dinners that introduced new foods and cultures, and gatherings filled with laughter. These traditions became cherished memories that shaped her family’s lives.
Sylvia leaves behind a legacy of love, creativity, and devotion. Her warmth, generosity, and ability to make every moment feel special will be forever remembered by all who knew her.
