Trinidad “Trini” Abellera Soriano, born in Barrio Capas, Mangusmana, Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines; was a Binalonan Fiesta Queen and entrepreneur who started her own salon and catered for the nuns of Holy Child Academy. In 1967, Trinidad immigrated to the United States with her sons, Dan and Omar, to join her husband Alex in California. Trinidad retired from Stanford University as a Housing Facilities Supervisor after over 30 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed spending time with her many family members sharing stories, cooking, playing cards, and winning at bingo. Trinidad’s green thumb created delicious fruits and vegetables and a garden beloved by many. She also loved to travel with her husband, family, and friends. Trinidad was a parishioner at St. Victor Catholic Church and through the church a member of the Cursillo group and Senior Club. In retirement, she volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank, dedicated more time to her garden, and enjoyed the company of her grand kitties.
Trinidad is survived by son Dan and daughter-in-law Nancy Stewart, son Omar and partner Kelli Weiss, granddaughter Nicole Souva and grandson-in-law Ryan, grandson Joaquin Stewart-Soriano and partner Casey Straka, sister Rosita Self, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by loving husband Alex and son Arturo. Flowers are welcome, and other contributions can be sent to Second Harvest Food Bank of Silicon Valley.
