

Born in Aoloau, American Samoa, on December 19, 1957 to Rev. Sialo Wilson Iese and Elisapeta Atualevao Iese. Uputaua, also known at Taua to those nearest to her was raised in Aoloau and attended Siliaga Elementary School until her parents received a calling in Masausi, American Samoa. Her moving caused her to transferred to Alofau Elementary School. She then graduated from Faasao High School in 1977, received her Associate's Degree at American Samoa Community College in 1979, and graduated with her Bachelor’s at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. In 1985, she moved to East Palo Alto and started working at DMV the following year. By 1987, Taua moved to San Jose where her parents did ministries at Epenesa Fou. In 1992, she met Togipatauileave Sagapolutele Moli Molio’o. They fell in love, and married the following year on March 20, 1993. They had their first born son on February 11, 1994, Amosa Mackenzie Moli Molio’o. After his birth, Taua and Togi moved to Hawaii. While out there, Togi worked while Taua stayed home to raise their son. On July 31, 1996, Elisapeta Uputaua Moli Molio’o was born. After birth, she started work at the Car dealership in Sunnyvale for a year then she later moved to Friendly Ford in San Jose and was employed there for 6 years. After Friendly Ford she transferred to San Francisco Honda and worked there for the next 14 years. From San Francisco Honda, she transferred to Royal Motors, then Putnam Car Dealership before finally retiring. She retired in December of 2019, and survived off her two kids and niece. She was a devoted choir director, secretary, and member of the Fremont UCC Samoan Church.”
