Born in 1924, her story began in Soquel, CA with a solid foundation of a family, 5th of 8 children. As a young woman, her varied experience taught her to actualize an inner strength, instilling a core of family values, and an ability to power through life's challenges. With her husband George, Violet began to root and build her family in Sunnyvale, where they thrived for 63yrs together as long-time residents.
The pride of motherhood brought her much joy. Her life was never empty of people who loved her, and she leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Violet, Sam, Terra, and Piani, grandchildren, Scott and Steve (Elizabeth), and her children, Gail (Tony), Bruce and Marcia, preceded in death by her husband George.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin, 640 N. 5th Street, reception to follow at The Akiyama Wellness Center, 110 Jackson Street.
