

Walter L. Huddleston Sr. was born October 20,1942 in Houston, Mississippi to Eddie and Ruth Huddleston. In 1954 the family relocated to San Jose, California. After graduating from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1961, Walter was employed at Ford Motor Company. As an accomplished musician, in 1969 Walter set forth and pursued what he loved most, playing the guitar and organ with his band at the Dunbarton Club in East Palo Alto. Since the 1970’s, Walter was a Visionary Mogul in his community leading him to success in the business and entertainment industry. He owned several Bay Area nightclubs throughout his career: The Living Room, The Swahili Club, Second Movement and most renowned The Twenty Grand.
Walter was called to rest peacefully on December 19th, 2024, at his home in San Jose, California. He was a fair and honest man, and a guiding light as a Father, Grandfather, Uncle, Mentor and Businessman. He touched the hearts and souls of many as a pillar to the community and his contribution to the arts, music, and nightclubs, he will be forever missed but forgotten. Walter, a good man, leaves to cherish three children, Wanda L. Huddleston-Ramsey (Donald Ramsey), Shawn E. Huddleston, and Walter L. Huddleston, Jr., sister, Ann Nelson, grandchildren, Daesai and Kayla Ramsey and Annalise Cortez. nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Clara Jackson and Lillie Thames and nephew David Jackson
