Forever in our hearts, always watching over us. His soul now joins with his mother and father and all his relations before home. He leads the way for the numerous family, friends and people who’s lives he has touched.
Born in San Francisco during the great depression. He was the only son of Alexander E. Brown of San Francisco (1904-1979) and Ruth G. Brown (19xx-1961) of Sacramento. He lived in Stockton, Sacramento and Chico, where he attended High School and was on the Football and Boxing teams. He learned to drive tractors and fly a small plane to help his parents with their Almond Orchard. He graduated from Chico High School in 1947 and briefly attended Chico Community College before being drafted to Korea in 1950. He served with the Army and spent 18 months overseas. After completing his service he returned to San Jose and attended San Jose State University. Earning a business degree in Insurance and Real Estate, in 1955. He met Grace when they both worked together at INA (Insurance Company of North America). They were married November 8, 1958 and settled in San Jose to raise their family. He had a long standing career in the Insurance industry, was always involved with the community, the Catholic church, and was ready to help anyone at anytime. He will always be remembered as a quiet gentle person with a big smile. He was never one to boast or brag about himself. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace Brown (DeLuca), his children Alex, Ruth, Jeffrey and Martin, his son-in-law Justin Whitaker. Grandchildren Anthony, Shane, Joshua, Claire and Carmen. And numerous family, friends and people who’s lives he has touched.
Viewing and Rosary to be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church April 28 at 7:30 pm. Funeral mass to be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church April 29 at 10:00 am. A celebration of life reception immediately following in the parish hall. The address is 4325 Jarvis Ave., San Jose, Ca 95118. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Bill’s name to the American Heart Association www.heart.org or American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
