Emilio Morales Morales (Millo), nacido el 24 de agosto de 1953, falleció el 31 de octubre de 2024, rodeado de su amada familia en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Hombre de resiliencia, humildad y bondad, Emilio sentía un profundo amor y orgullo por sus hijos y nietos. Desde joven, Emilio mantuvo su relación con Dios en la Iglesia Bautista de Filadelfia a la que fue invitado por el Pastor Eliezer Rodríguez, a quien apreciaba profundamente y con quien compartía su pasión por el béisbol.

Esos valores dejaron una huella especial en diversos aspectos de su vida. Emilio había estado en un proceso de reflexión y crecimiento personal durante varios años. En sus últimas semanas, continuó ese proceso, y en la presencia de su ex-esposa y amiga Nydia E. Soto Javier, así como de su amigo el Pastor Luis Soto Javier, reconectó con su fe, profesando su creencia en Jesucristo y recibiendo salvación en Su nombre.

Emilio, el menor de nueve hijos de Ramón Morales y Aurea Morales, nació en Manatí, Puerto Rico. Sus primeros años en el campo le enseñaron a valorar el trabajo arduo y la importancia de la educación, principios que impartió a sus hijos. En busca de mejores oportunidades, se mudó a Estados Unidos, donde vivió brevemente en Connecticut antes de establecer su residencia en Filadelfia, Pensilvania. Esta decisión marcó un nuevo capítulo en su vida, pues allí conoció a su futura esposa, Nydia, con quien se casó el 22 de diciembre de 1973. Además, Emilio forjó una profunda relación con la familia de Nydia, especialmente con sus hermanos y cuñado. Emilio y Nydia fueron bendecidos con tres hijos: Daniel Morales Soto (Danny), Nydia I. Morales Soto (Nyvi) y Sheilla Morales Soto. Aunque el matrimonio finalizó, Emilio y Nydia permanecieron amigos. Emilio también fue padre de Edgardo Morales Ortiz, quien siempre ocupó un lugar especial en su corazón.

Emilio, junto a su esposa Nydia e hijo de dos años, Danny, regresaron a vivir permanentemente a Puerto Rico en 1976, donde Emilio deseaba continuar su educación y acceder a mejores oportunidades para su familia. Obtuvo un grado asociado y se destacó como contable en el Gobierno de Puerto Rico, desempeñándose en la Oficina de Gerencia y Presupuesto en el Viejo San Juan, de la que se retiró luego de alrededor de 30 años de servicio en el 2008. Disfrutaba llevar a sus hijos Danny, Nyvi, y Sheilla a su oficina siempre que fuera posible, una actividad que a ellos también les encantaba. Además de su trabajo como contador, Emilio era un electricista licenciado, una habilidad que a menudo ponía al servicio de su familia y amigos, brindando su ayuda sin esperar nada a cambio.

Tras su retiro, Emilio continuó enfrentando varios desafíos, pero es evidente que en sus últimos años vivió un notable crecimiento personal, algo que sus hijos pudieron observar en sus interacciones con él y el amor que compartía con ellos y sus nietos. Le encantaba ver películas, escuchar salsa y leer, especialmente sobre ciencia. También le encantaba el béisbol, siendo los Dodgers su equipo favorito.

Emilio será profundamente extrañado por su familia y amigos. Deja un legado de amor en sus cuatro hijos y sus respectivas familias: su hijo Daniel Morales Soto, de Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, junto a su esposa Yvonne Filpo Robles e hijos Cristian, Caleb y Jonathan; su hija Nydia I. Morales Soto, de Granger, Indiana, junto a su esposo Roberto Martínez Virella y sus hijos Gabriela y Rodrigo; su hija Sheilla Morales Soto, de Bristol, Inglaterra, junto a su esposo Liam P. Talbot y su hijo Marcelo; y su hijo Edgardo Morales Ortíz, de Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

Se llevará a cabo un velorio el jueves, 7 de noviembre de 2024 a las 11:00 am en la Capilla E de la Funeraria y Columbario del Angel Buxeda (3738 Av. Tte. César Luis González, San Juan, PR), con un servicio en la misma capilla a las 7:00 pm por el Pastor Luis Soto Javier.

La comitiva fúnebre partirá a las 9:30 am el viernes, 8 de noviembre de 2024 con llegada al Cementerio Parque de Luz en Caguas (Carr 1, KM 29.2, Caguas, PR) a las 10:30 am.

Emilio Morales Morales (Millo), born on August 24, 1953, passed away on October 31, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A man of resilience, humility, and kindness, Emilio felt a deep love and pride for his children and grandchildren. From a young age, Emilio maintained his relationship with God at the Baptist Church in Philadelphia, where he was invited by Pastor Eliezer Rodríguez, whom he deeply appreciated and shared his passion for baseball with.

These values left a special mark on various aspects of his life. Emilio had been on a journey of reflection and personal growth for several years. In his last weeks, he continued that process, and in the presence of his ex-wife and friend Nydia E. Soto Javier and his friend Pastor Luis Soto Javier, he reconnected with his faith, professing his belief in Jesus Christ and receiving salvation in His name.

Emilio, the youngest of nine children of Ramón Morales and Aurea Morales, was born in Manatí, Puerto Rico. His early years in the countryside taught him the value of hard work and the importance of having an education, principles he always imparted to his children. In search of better opportunities, he moved to the United States, where he briefly lived in Connecticut before establishing his residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This marked a new chapter in his life, as it was there that he met his future wife, Nydia, whom he married on December 22, 1973. Additionally, Emilio forged a deep relationship with Nydia's family, especially with her brothers and brother-in-law. Emilio and Nydia were blessed with three children: Daniel Morales Soto (Danny), Nydia I. Morales Soto (Nyvi), and Sheilla Morales Soto. Although the marriage ended, Emilio and Nydia remained friends. Emilio was also the father of Edgardo Morales Ortiz, who held a special place in his heart.

Emilio, along with his then-wife Nydia and their two-year-old son Danny, returned to live permanently in Puerto Rico in 1976, where Emilio sought to continue his education and pursue better opportunities for his family. He obtained an associate degree and excelled as an accountant in the Government of Puerto Rico, working in the Oficina de Gerencia y Presupuesto in Old San Juan, from which he retired after approximately 30 years of service in 2008. He enjoyed taking Danny, Nyvi, and Sheilla to his office whenever possible, an activity they also loved. In addition to his work as an accountant, Emilio was a licensed electrician, a skill he often put to use for his family and friends, offering his help without expecting anything in return.

After his retirement, Emilio continued to face various challenges, yet it is evident that in his last years, he experienced remarkable personal growth, something his children could observe in their interactions with him and his love for them and his grandchildren. He loved watching movies, listening to salsa music, and reading, especially about science. He also loved baseball, with the Dodgers being his favorite team.

Emilio will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves a legacy of love in his four children and their respective families: his son Daniel Morales Soto from Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico, along with his wife Yvonne Filpo Robles and children Cristian, Caleb, and Jonathan; his daughter Nydia I. Morales Soto from Granger, Indiana, with her husband Roberto Martínez Virella and their children Gabriela and Rodrigo; his daughter Sheilla Morales Soto from Bristol, England, with her husband Liam P. Talbot and their son Marcelo; and his son Edgardo Morales Ortíz from Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.

A wake will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Chapel E of Angel Buxeda Funeral Home and Columbarium (3738 Av. Tte. César Luis González, San Juan, PR), with a service in the same chapel at 7:00 PM led by Pastor Luis Soto Javier.

The funeral procession will depart at 9:30 AM on Friday, November 8, 2024, arriving at Parque de Luz Cemetery in Caguas (Carr 1, KM 29.2, Caguas, PR) at 10:30 AM.
