Blanche C. Gorton

Blanche was born October 1, 1923 in Bucks County, PA to the late George and Alice (Quinn) Bailey. She attended Commerce High School in Yonkers, NY and raised her family in Cortland Manor, NY. She worked as an executive secretary at Hudson Institute in Croton on Hudson, NY. Blanche and John had a love affair with Cape Cod and spent the last 33 years in retirement heaven. She was very active in Corpus Christi Women’s Guild and the Sandwich Food Pantry.

Blanche was the loving mother to John Gorton, Jr. of Grand Island, NY, Robert Gorton and wife Peggy of New York City and Peter Gorton of Williamsville, NY. She was the beloved grandmother to Sally, Rebecca, James, Jessica, Christopher, Karlee and Dustin and great-grandmother of 6. She is also survived by a sister, Louise Magner and brother, George Bailey, Jr.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Mass for Blanche at 11AM on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Corpus Christi Parish, 324 Quaker Meeting House Rd., East Sandwich. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, MA 02601.
