Norwell and Quincy, departed this world reluctantly after a lengthy illness.
He was the husband of Patricia Anne (Lawler) Mason.
He was pre-deceased by his 1st wife Grayce Francis Mason.
Bruce was born in Quincy to Edward Lawrence Mason and
Veronica (Phillips) Mason. Bruce grew up in Quincy on Langley Circle where he
spent time exploring Blacks Creek and Pine Island with his beloved spaniel
Spanker. Bruce graduated from Quincy Trade School in 1957. During his younger
years he was a member of the Wollaston Yacht Club enjoying his time on the waters
of Quincy Bay. Upon graduation he was employed with Grass Instruments until
his retirement. He worked for the same company for 46 years, of which he, proudly,
never missed a day. Bruce enjoyed many summer and winter adventures in the
mountains of New Hampshire, and in the woods and on the rivers of Maine.
He was an accomplished outdoorsman, and was quite comfortable hunting in the
woods of Maine. Canoe trips on the rivers of Maine always provided him great
joy. Bruce retired to East Sandwich on Cape Cod and married
Patricia (Lawler) Quintiliani. They had been friends for most of their lives. They
enjoyed travel, long-time and new friends, and had hoped to enjoy a longer second half of the lives
together. Mr. Mason leaves two children, David Bruce Mason of East
Sandwich and his wife Colleen, Kenneth Edward Mason of Arundel, Maine and his
wife Patricia, and four grandchildren, Bradley Edward Mason, Kathleen Francis
Mason, Jack Edward Mason, and Eliza Kay Mason. Bruce will also be missed by his wife's sons, Louis,
Stephen and his wife Tracy, and Matthew Quintiliani. "Grandpa Bruce" was also loved by
Anthony, Arrianna, and Danielle Quintiliani.
A celebration of his life will be held at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home on 6A in
Sandwich, MA on Saturday, January 18, from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Burial will
be private. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Bruce's name to the cancer charity of your choice.
