David J. Trayers

David J. Trayers, 59, of Sandwich, died surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 4, 2012. He was the husband of 30 years to Linda M. (Donohoe) Trayers, and the father of Jacquelyn L. Trayers of Boston, David J. Trayers II of Roslindale and Sean M. Trayers of Boston. He was the son of Dennis G. Trayers and the late Madonna Rita Trayers of Canton. He also leaves his many brothers and sisters: Mary Summerhayes of Sharon, Dennis G.Trayers IV of Canton, Brian Trayers of Canton, Katherine Burke of South Boston, Michael Trayers of Ashland, Christine Grassia of Foxboro, Patricia Timilty of Canton, Elizabeth Wohlwend of Jacksonville FL and Maureen Trayers of Canton.

He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Dave was a graduate of Xaverian Brothers High School and attended Massasoit Community College. He worked at United Parcel Service until his retirement in 2008.

Dave was an avid golfer, a member at Sandwich Hollows Golf Club, a tremendous athlete and enjoyed all sports. He was a devoted father and loved spending time with his family and friends. His sense of humor and quick wit will be sorely missed.

Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Thursday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road in East Sandwich. Burial will be private.
