Donald Joseph Duffy

Donald J Duffy, 82, passed away at home on April 24, following a courageous battle with cancer. His well loved companion, Harriet Dean, was at his side. Born and raised in Manchester, CT, Donald has lived happily in E. Sandwich MA for the past 15 years. Donald was the son of the late James and Freda (Skoneski) Duffy. He was also a proud Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Donald retired after 50 years in the tire business in Manchester. He was a member of the American Legion of Sandwich Ma and Army & Navy Club in Manchester. Donald was preceded by his wife of 44 years, Patricia (Pitkin) Duffy and his brother Richard Duffy.

He loved fishing in Maine with his best friend James E Campbell, and friends Dave Albert and Howard Morey.

In addition to Harriet Dean, Don is survived by his son James Duffy, his daughters Dona Duffy, Susan Cherenza, Lisa Clark, grandson Justin Cherenza, his sister Dorothy Somerville and her husband Alan of Sarasota, Florida and several nieces and nephews. Don’s incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh will also be sorely missed by Harriet’s daughter, Elaine Wrubel.

Memorial contributions may be made in Memory of Donald to Cape Cod Hospice and Palliative Care, 765 Attucks Lane, Hyannis, Ma. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
