

Elizabeth Sharpe Reynolds, 92, of East Sandwich, Massachusetts, passed away on September 5, 2013 after a brief illness. She grew up in Belmont, Massachusetts as the elder of two children of Howard and Flora Sharpe. A graduate of Wellesley College, she married Clinton A. Reynolds in 1944. They were married 60 years until his death in 2005. She is survived by the couple’s five children, Douglas of Belmont, MA, Virginia and Donald both of East Sandwich, MA, Bruce of Ridgewood, NJ and Robert of Richmond, VA; eleven grandchildren; and her brother, Howard Sharpe of New York City.
Betty Reynolds was homemaker and mother, raising five children at homes in Worcester, Massachusetts and Greenwich, Connecticut. She enjoyed being in the midst of people and bustling activity and was a dedicated volunteer at The Rummage Room at First Congregational Church in Old Greenwich and the Garden Education Center of Greenwich in Cos Cob, Connecticut, and the Jarves Street-St. John’s Thrift and Consignment Shop in Sandwich, Massachusetts. She played tennis until she was 87, and she enjoyed walking outdoors, especially at the Cape Cod Canal.
Funeral arrangements are private, and she will be interred with her husband at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The family suggests that contributions may be made in memory of Elizabeth and Clinton Reynolds to The New England Forestry Foundation, PO Box 1346, 32 Foster Street, Littleton, MA 01460, or to any charity of the donor’s choosing in memory of Elizabeth S.
