Gail Leslie McHugh

Gail was born to Leslie Lindgren and Eva (Simpson) on January 11, 1944 in Brockton, MA. She was the wife of Paul J. McHugh Sr. with whom she spent 43 years.

Gail worked as an Optician for 55 years and retired from Dowling Optical in 2020.

Gail was predeceased by her mother and father as well as her older sister, Pam.

Gail leaves behind her husband Paul J. McHugh Sr. , her son Darren McHugh and his fiancé Sarah, her granddaughter Hailey and step-grandson, Joshua. She also leaves behind her two step-children, Michelle McHugh and Paul McHugh Jr. as well as their children and many extended family members.

Gail adored being a mother and was ecstatic to become a grandmother. She loved visiting Florida with her husband Paul and spending months at time on the Florida coast.

Gail will always be remembered as a kindhearted woman and the neighborhood “mom”. Everyone loved her and she would often be found with a smile on her face and a welcoming hug. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A visitation will take place on Sunday, January 11th from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home; 154 MA-6A, Sandwich, MA 02563.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Gail’s honor.
