Janice Goodwin

Francis A. and Jane A. (Canning) Kane. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerard F. Goodwin.

Janice grew up in Dorchester and Roslindale where she met her husband, Gerry. She was an honors graduate of Saint Mary of the Assumption High School, Brookline, MA class of 1963, and Cape Cod

Community College class of 1987. Janice and Gerry lived in Halifax before settling in Sandwich where they raised their four children.

She worked as a registered nurse for Cape Heritage Nursing Home in Sandwich, Jordan Hospital, and later for VNA Private Services of Cape Cod. She was a devout parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish, East Sandwich. Janice will be missed by her beloved family as well as her devoted circle of long-time friends, and her treasured group of knitters and parishioners at Corpus Christi Parish.

Janice will always be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family and her extraordinary kindness to all who met her. Janice cherished her family and their time together in her lovely home, and at Sandy Neck Beach and York Beach, ME.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer A. Lema and her husband Mark of Cataumet, MA; her sons, Gerard J. Goodwin and his wife Kathleen of Andover, MA, Michael F. Goodwin and his wife Tracey of East Sandwich, MA and Matthew P. Goodwin and his wife Lisa of Centerville, MA; her sisters, Deborah E. Kane of Medway, MA and Elizabeth M. Kane-Maher of Sebago, ME; her brothers, Francis J. Kane of Franklin, MA, John P. Kane of Foxboro, MA and Daniel P. Kane of Medway, MA; her grandchildren, Mark, Mary Kate, Peyton, Anna, Madilynn, Taylor, Joshua and Samantha. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Michael W. Kane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corpus Christi Parish for the benefit of the Food Pantry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1st at Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meetinghouse Road East Sandwich, MA. Interment at Sandwich Town Cemetery. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 31st at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.
