Born on September 29, 1926 in New Bedford to the late Joseph and Annie Gonsalves (Vieira). Jeannette grew up in New Bedford. After high school, she moved to New York City and worked as a fashion model.
Jeannette loved people and loved life. She had a passion for visual and performing arts and reading. Jeannette loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed her time spent abroad. She especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Jeannette is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie of Falmouth, her granddaughter, Kim Harris of South Carolina, her nephews, Charles Duarte of South Dakota and Michael Duarte of the Philippines, her niece, Ruby Smart of Rhode Island and many other family members. She is preceded in passing by her sister, Bernice Smart.
