

John D. “Jack” Morgan, Jr., of Forestdale, passed away peacefully with his wife and son Craig by his side on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Phyllis L. Bayer.
Born in Somerville, MA, son of the late John D. and Mary T. (Laughlin) Morgan, Sr.
A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Morgan served as a police officer for the town of Kingston, MA for 32 years. During his career as a patrolman he also served as a motorcycle officer, a prosecutor and a detective. After retiring from law enforcement, he worked part time at the Holly Ridge golf course in Sandwich, MA.
He loved golfing and truly enjoyed the time spent working with his friends at the golf course. Jack will be forever remembered for his generosity and good nature. He was loyal, patient, and a truly loving soul. He will be dearly missed by those he inspired on a daily basis.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Craig H. Bayer of Eastham, MA, Jenna Morgan of Kingston, MA, Jonathan Morgan of Pembroke, MA and Kyle Morgan of Kingston, MA; 3 brothers, Ed Morgan of Liverpool, NY, Robert Morgan of Pembroke, MA and William Morgan of Cataula, GA; a sister, Linda Stringer of Taunton, MA; several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A graveside service with military honors to be rendered on Wednesday, November, 12, 2014 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to gather in procession at 9:15 a.m. from the Nickerson Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA.
