Joseph Paul Carroll

Sandwich - Joseph Paul Carroll, 82, of Sandwich passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014. He was the devoted husband to Margaret (Peggy) Carroll for 54 years. Loving father to Joseph P. Carroll Jr. and his wife Jill of Cohasset, Lisa Carroll of Osterville, Mary Ellen Carroll-Reed of Orleans, Mark Carroll of Orleans, Celine Beaudin and her husband Keith of Cohasset and James Carroll of Sarasota, FL. Beloved grandfather to Lauren, Erin, Christopher, Brennan, Michaela, Joseph, Emma, Jack, Daniel and Ryan.

He was the son of the late Dr. C. Russell and Bertha (King) Carroll. He leaves his 2 sisters, Bertha Sullivan of Wellesley and Angela Fay of Needham. He was the brother of the late Charles Carroll, Mary Carey, Jack Carroll and Owen Carroll. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Stonehill College in 1954. Upon graduation, he proudly served in the U.S. Army for 2 years. He was the owner of the J.P. Carroll Company for 44 years and served as a past president of the New England Food Foundation. He was also a member of the Eucharistic Choir at Corpus Christi Church.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15th at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, 324 Quaker Meeting House Road, East Sandwich, followed by Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1 Wellesley Ave, Needham. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 14th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA.
